Australasian Oaks Form Guide & Tips
(1) Too Darn Lizzie ($4.20)
She keeps finding one better, and that might be the case again, but we’re not leaving her out of our Australasian Oaks picks.
We expect her to push forward and be in the race for a long way.
(2) Benagil (Best Bet – $3.70)
Running second behind Treasurethe Moment is good form for this race, and that’s why she’s favourite to win.
Her win prior at Caulfield is a good betting guide, and getting $3.70 is a better price than we expected. She is the one to beat based on her form lines.
(3) Movin Out (Best Each Way – $4.80)
The former Kiwi showed her real ability last week when cruising home at Mornington.
She was purchased as an Oaks type, and Chris Waller has seemingly got the best out of her now, which is a scary thought.
She’s the biggest danger to the favourite, so take the odds.
(4) Cinch ($8.00)
She’s gunning for four consecutive wins after scoring at Morphettville against a big field. That’s usually a good form guide, so she’s included in multiples.
(5) Phenom ($27.00)
Her form is solid enough, but she needs to find another gear to beat this field. As the odds suggest, she should struggle to be a contender.
(6) Femminile ($46.00)
Better for two runs this preparation but she hasn’t figured in the finish in either run. She needs more time and easier racing.
(7) Cavity Bay ($51.00)
Another runner who is looking for something easier. Wait until that day comes.
(8) Comanche Miss (Best Roughie – $26.00)
She pulled up lame last start and was only 3.9 lengths behind the winner. Her win prior was good, so she’s the best longshot chance.
Look for money to come for her on race day.
(9) Polymnia ($6.50)
That was a good performance at Randwick last start, and she was close to being the best each-way.
She’s a nice stayer in the making, and she could round this field up and put them away with the right run in transit.
(10) All Kinds of Folk ($19.00)
A sneaky chance to run in the top four after a good placing last start. Drifting odds but if you have room, she’s worth including in picks.
(11) Beautiful Jewel ($101.00)
Disappointing effort last start, so she would need a massive form turnaround to get close.
(12) Wolfess ($81.00)
She broke maidens two back before running fifth last start. She needs to improve to go close, hence the odds.
(13) Pelevecchio ($67.00)
Her form earlier this prep was solid enough, but she has been found out since. Can’t have her in our picks.
(14) Horizons ($61.00)
Disappointing form this campaign, and she’ll be struggling a long way from home.
(15) Sweltering ($126.00)
Backed and beaten at short odds this prep. Massive odds here, but she’s yet to win a race.
(16) Giorgi ($201.00)
Named after a tennis player but she’s not an ace. Unlikely to threaten at any stage.
