Bairnsdale racing tips

Race 1. (12:00) Vale Life Member Les Martin Maiden (1600m)

#2 – Karasmatic @ $4.40

Karasmatic has been well-backed to win at each-way odds following two second placings to kick off his preparation.

He finished fourth last time out at Wangaratta, which was a solid effort, and he only needs a touch of luck from the draw to go close.

We’re happy to take the current odds available.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (12:30) Hygain Mitavite Maiden (1000m)

#13 – New Character @ $3.80

New Character ran only fairly for sixth on debut at Ballarat, but he should be better for the run and being on grass.

The two-year-old colt by Hanseatic is in good hands with Matt Laurie, and he doesn’t take long to get his youngsters to win.

The odds have shortened, which is a good sign.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:00) Book Your Christmas Function Maiden (1200m)

#11 – Zwasp @ $1.70

We’re happy to include the short odds for Zwasp in our horse racing multi. The Shea Eden-trained gelding owns five placings from 11 starts, so it’s about time he won.

The four-year-old son of Zoustar runs some of his best races early in his preparation, so we’re not surprised by the odds.

He gets an inside barrier and every chance to break through.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 4. (13:30) Vale Life Member Dr Geoffrey Brown Maiden (1200m)

#6 – We’ll I’ll Be @ $5.50

Looking to win on debut is We’ll I’ll Be, who hasn’t been too far away in recent jumpouts, which should be good enough form.

The three-year-old son of Divine Prophet gets all favours from an inside barrier, and that should be enough to take him close.

We’re happy to include him at each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (14:00) Bet365 Never Ordinary BM58 (1200m)

#8 – Dollar Shot @ $2.45

Looking to justify favouritism is Dollar Shot, who wasn’t too far away fresh up when sixth at Sandown, and this race is easier.

The three-year-old filly by Shooting to Win owns a win and five placings from 12 starts overall, including a second placing at Bairnsdale.

Something close to that should be enough to see her win.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (14:30) Club 14 BM58 (1200m)

#11 – Omaha Dawn @ $8.00

Omaha Dawn should be fitter after two runs this preparation, including a last-start fifth at Pakenham.

The three-year-old filly by Omaha Beach owns a win from five starts, and although that came on debut, she could get back to that form.

We’re happy to give her another chance at value odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (15:00) Tambo Waste BM58 (1000m)

#8 – Telescope @ $7.50

Telescoped showed good pace fresh up to win at Wodonga before struggling in subsequent runs, but she’s good enough to bounce back.

The four-year-old daughter of Zoustar owns two wins and six placings overall, so she doesn’t often run a bad race.

A bounce back performance is on the cards.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 8. (15:30) Dyson Group BM58 (2200m)

#5 – Broadfield @ $11.00

Punters get double-figure odds for Broadfield, who turned his form around with a placing at Moe, so he’s worth backing.

The five-year-old son of Almanzor is bred to enjoy running over this distance and he doesn’t meet an overly tough BM58 field on Monday.

Getting 2kg off his back is enough to take him close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (16:00) Tickets on Sale Melbourne Cup BM57 (1600m)

#4 – Proshow @ $5.00

Seeking consecutive wins is Proshow, who was too good for them at Pakenham on the synthetic last time out.

He’s good enough to take that winning form to grass tracks, and the four-year-old son of Proisir has more potential than most in this race.

His confidence levels should be high, so stick with him.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 10. (16:30) Four’n Twenty BM57 (1600m)

#1 – Red on Red @ $3.30

Red on Red is nearing a win after two solid efforts this prep, including a handy fourth last time out.

The seven-year-old son of Magnus owns two second placings at Bairnsdale, so having good form at the track is a bonus.

After opening at $6, strong money has come for him.

Stake: 2 Units
