Ballarat racing tips

Race 1. (13:30) Whitford Liquid Waste Maiden (1200m)

#10 – Keeni @ $2.50

Kenni showed good pace on debut when running second at Seymour, and she ran much better than her $11 odds suggested.

The three-year-old daughter of Pierata is bred to show speed early in his career, and the odds are much shorter this time around.

It won’t take her long to break through maiden grades.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (14:00) Global Turf Maiden (1500m)

#3 – Brother Quickie @ $4.20

Brother Quickie wasn’t far away when third fresh up at Werribee, and something close to that is good enough to go close.

The three-year-old son of Shamus Award didn’t fire on the synthetic track last time out at Pakenham, but he can bounce back.

Barrier five is ideal, so give him another chance at the odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (14:30) Manhari Maiden (2100m)

#3 – Dun Wondering @ $1.50

Taking $1.50 for Dun Wondering isn’t easy, but we’re happy to include the three-year-old is our picks.

The Matthew Cumani-trained son of Dundeel is bred to relish the rise in distance, and he also has experience on this track.

Everything points towards him breaking through on Tuesday.

Stake: 3.5 Units

Race 4. (15:00) Porter Plant BM64 (1500m)

#1 – She Mogul @ $2.90

Looking to cap off two solid runs is She Mogul, who ran fourth at Seymour fresh up before placing at Ballarat.

The three-year-old filly by Written Tycoon carries a big weight, but she is a filly that’s good enough to carry it to victory against this field.

Take the $2.90 before more money comes for her.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (15:30) Hygain Winners Choice BM64 (1500m)

#2 – Delivering @ $2.40

A lot of money has come for Delivering, who opened at $3.80 before shortening to $2.40, which is a sizable move.

The Ciaron Maher-trained is only a three-time winner from 20 starts, but he also has nine placings, so he’s always around the mark.

He won his only start here, so the odds are worth taking.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 6. (16:00) Blackbook BM70 (1200m)

#5 – Mantau @ $5.00

Mantua runs at value odds after finishing seventh at Sandown, which followed a placing at Caulfield.

That form bodes well for racing at Ballarat, and he shouldn’t have any worries coping with the different track condition.

The each-way odds are worth taking in an open contest.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 7. (16:30) Hygain Winners Choice BM58 (1000m)

#3 – I Am Piki @ $3.40

Looking to score back-to-back wins is I Am Piki, who owns two wins and four placings from eight starts.

The three-year-old filly by I Am Immortal won by 1.5 lengths as a $3.10 chance last start and getting $3.40 odds are well worth taking.

She gets 1.5kg off her back, which helps.

Stake: 2 Units
