Ballarat Synthetic racing tips
—
Single Choice ran well for second on debut at Geelong before finishing fifth at Sandown, and coming to Ballarat should only help his chances.
The three-year-old son of Anders wasn’t far behind the winner at Sandown when running 3.4 lengths behind, so that’s a nice form guide.
Take the $2.35 odds before money comes for him.
Stake: 2 Units
Call Me Phil has steadily improved with back-to-back placings at Ballarat, and he’s good enough to exit maiden grades.
The four-year-old son of Crackerjack King shouldn’t be worried by the distance, and he’ll likely get back from an outside draw.
Watch for him to finish strongly at each-way odds.

Gunning for back-to-back wins is Shadeelaa, who scored at this track by just under a length last time out.
That win came over Capulet, so it should be a good form guide, and we expect money to come for him on race day.
He loves the track and distance, so there are no downsides to his winning hopes.
Stake: 2 Units
Wallenberg has shown good improvement over his last two runs, and synthetic track racing could be his calling.
The Hayes-trained four-year-old ran third at Wodonga in heavy conditions last start, but he didn’t appear to enjoy the surface.
Moving to synthetic should help, and the money has started to trickle in for him.
Stake: 2 Units
Punters must take short odds for Olatunde, but he couldn’t have been more impressive when breaking maidens last start.
The three-year-old gelding by Farnan won by 3.8 lengths, and it’s good to see Damian Lane sticking with him at this low-key meeting.
Take the $1.40 odds and include him in horse racing multi bets.
Stake: 4.5 Units
Taung has been excellent in his last two wins at Ballarat, and he’s one of our better bets on the card.
The four-year-old won by six lengths to break maidens two back before winning by 3.5 lengths in dominant fashion last start.
Carrying 54kg is ideal, and that makes him awfully tough to beat on Tuesday.
Stake: 5 Units
Looking to continue his good fresh up form is Kaygeebee, who owns a win and two placings fresh up.
The six-year-old son of Russian Revolution won his only synthetic start, and getting 3kg off his back makes the $19 odds seem generous.
He’s good enough to cause an upset in the final race.
