Ballarat Synthetic racing tips

Race 1. (13:00) Porter Plant Maiden (1400m)

#1 – Cyssan @ $2.70

Looking to go one better than his second placing at Pakenham is Cyssan, who finished 3.3 lengths behind Emmcee.

It was a solid effort, and much better than what he showed on debut, so we expect the improvement to continue Thursday.

Seeing money come for him is a good sign, so put him on top.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (13:30) McGrath Ballarat Maiden (1000m)

#10 –Meisho @ $2.10

Money has come for Meisho, who is getting close to posting a win after three placings from five career starts.

The three-year-old filly by Tagaloa is bred to show early speed, and getting in with only 55kg makes her tough to hold out.

She shouldn’t take much longer to exit maidens.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 3. (14:00) Global Turf Maiden (1200m)

#11 – Stellar Madame @ $8.50

Stellar Madame is fitter for two runs under her belt this preparation, including a tidy fourth at Warrnambool last time out.

The four-year-old daughter of Starspangledbanner gets 1.5kg off her back, which adds to her appeal, and it could take her close.

She only needs a touch of luck from the wide draw to figure in the finish.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:30) Hertz Maiden (1500m)

#6 – Holler Dash @ $5.00

Resuming from a spell is Holler Dash, who ran second on debut at Yarra Valley in February.

The four-year-old mare ran as a $26 chance on that occasion, and we’re not surprised by the much shorter odds on this occasion.

Her recent jumpout form has been tidy, so she’s an improving type.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (15:00) Manhari BM70 (1500m)

#1 – Delivering @ $1.95

Gunning for four consecutive wins is Delivering, who won all three races at Ballarat.

The five-year-old gelding is loving life on the synthetic tracks, and we expect him to remain unbeaten on this surface on Thursday.

After opening at $1.65, his odds have drifted, so punters get better value.

Stake: 4 Units

Race 6. (15:30) Hygain Winners Choice BM58 (2100m)

#5 – Hot Stomper @ $5.00

Punters get each-way value for Hot Stomper, who didn’t fire at her last two starts, but her form prior was much better.

She won at Echuca three starts back, and although she doesn’t have experience on synthetic tracks, she should be suited to the conditions.

Barrier four is ideal, and the odds are worth taking.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:00) Same Race Multi BM70 (1200m)

#7 – Into You @ $3.10

Looking to cap off consistent form is Into You, who owns two wins and five placings from 13 starts, including a second placing last start on the track.

The five-year-old mare by No Nay Never is good enough to handle this field, and there isn’t much depth to it.

We recommend taking the $3.10 odds before late money comes for her.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 8. (16:30) Hygain Winners Choice BM58 (1100m)

#4 – Yankee Miss @ $9.00

Yankee Miss is a good chance to score consecutive wins after breaking maidens with a win at Ballarat Synthetic.

The four-year-old mare paid only $2.30 when scoring, and although rising in class isn’t easy, she looks good enough to cope.

Take the $9, as there has been some betting interest for her.

Stake: 1 Unit
