Bendigo racing tips

Point Barrow ran third on debut at Caulfield, and having form in the city bodes well for racing at Bendigo.
The Freedman-trained runner had no luck after getting held up behind Palm Angel, and that form has since been franked.
We expected $2.40 odds, so take the $3.40 price.

There is a short favourite in the race, but Cowarrie should run well at double-figure odds.
The Danny O’Brien-trained gelding ran a solid fifth at Sale behind Izola, and although he was a touch one-paced, he’ll be better for the run.
1.5kg comes off his back, which adds to his appeal.
Stake: 1 Unit
Looking to cap off consistent form with a win is Sussex Duchess, who finished second at Geelong last time out.
The four-year-old mare by Hellbent owns three placings from five starts, so she’s threatening to win, and punters get fair odds.
We would have been happy to take around $2.20 for the favourite.
Stake: 3 Units
Consistency is with Rasp, who placed at Bendigo two starts back before finishing second at Warwick Farm last time out.
That four-year-old comes back to Victoria, and having form in New South Wales only adds to his appeal against this field.
Having a strong rider with Jamie Mott riding adds to our confidence.
Stake: 2 Units
Backing Varane on a consistent basis isn’t easy, but we can’t turn down the value odds for the Payne-trained runner.
The five-year-old son of Vadamos has form in soft track conditions, and he scored a win at Sale earlier this preparation.
Anything close to that run is good enough to compete at this level.
Stake: 1 Unit
Royal Lass was too quick for them at Geelong last time out, and that win could give her confidence to kick on with it.
The four-year-old daughter of Royal Meeting won her only start in soft conditions, and she only needs a touch of luck from a wide barrier.
If she gets luck, she could score consecutive wins.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Cannyworth went too quickly at Caulfield when finishing seventh, and a slower tempo could help him at Bendigo.
The three-year-old son of Written Tycoon was much better when winning at Bendigo by 2.5 lengths to exit maidens, so that’s the best form guide.
Take the $4.60 odds before late money comes for him.
Stake: 2 Units
Money has come for Chest of Gold, who ended last season with a win Cranbourne, which is a good form guide.
The four-year-old gelding by Rich Enuff paid $1.24 when winning, so getting $2.60 is a much better price for punters to take.
It could pay to follow any race day moves.
