Bendigo racing tips

Race 1. (13:30) Ladbrokes SRM in Multis Maiden (1100m)

#1 – Catwalk Icon @ $4.80

Catwalk Icon is on debut for the McEvoy stable, and she has looked good at the jumpouts.

The three-year-old filly by Ole Kirk is bred to hit the ground running, and after winning a jumpout at Flemington, she is ready to fire on debut.

Take the each-way odds available before they shorten.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (14:00) Bendigo Mazda Maiden (1100m)

#9 – Burlington Arcade @ $4.80

Looking to go one better than his last start is Burlington Arcade, who placed at Sale after running at Caulfield on debut.

The three-year-old son of Justify was thrown in the deep end early when running behind Prince Tycoon, and he only needs luck from a wide draw.

Having Ben Melham in the saddle helps, so include at each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (14:30) Catanach’s Jewellers Maiden (1400m)

#7 – Dancing Dolly @ $8.00

Dancing Dolly has been threatening to win after posting six placings from seven starts, and she’s worth following for another run.

The four-year-old mare by Ace High races better over shorter distances and kicking off over 1400m should be ideal.

The $8 odds are generous, so include her in picks before they shorten.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 4. (15:00) Smartloans Bendigo Maiden (2400m)

#7 – Tulchan @ $5.00

Punters get each-way odds with Tulchan, who finished third at Bendigo behind Autumnheat.

The Archie Alexander-trained four-year-old owns three placings from nine starts, and he doesn’t mind racing on soft tracks.

Include him in picks at each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (15:30) Bendigo Locksmiths BM64 (2400m)

#4 – Valley King @ $6.50

Valley King owns four wins from 16 starts, and he wasn’t too far away from the prize when fifth at Seymour.

His winning form shouldn’t take much longer to come, and any easing of the surface only helps his chances of winning.

Soft conditions are still in his wheelhouse, so include in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (16:00) Bendigo Property Maintenance BM64 (1000m)

#11 – Delicate Lady @ $3.50

Delicate Lady showed good form fresh up when winning at Bendigo in heavy conditions before running well at Caulfield and Sandown.

The second placing at Caulfield came behind Vain Champagne, which is a good form guide, and she doesn’t know how to run a bad race.

After opening at $4.40, strong betting moves have come for her.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 7. (16:30) RMBL Investments Rising Stars (1400m)

#1 – British Poet @ $6.50

Looking to go one better than his second placing at Sandown is British Poet, who paid a big price at $41.

The five-year-old son of Iffraaj is a two-time winner from 10 starts overall, so getting $6.50 from bookmakers is a good price.

If she gets luck from a wide barrier, she should go close.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 8. (17:00) Grogans Machinery Handicap (1600m)

#2 – Hot Too Go @ $2.60

Hot Too Go finally scored a maiden win last time out at Geelong, and it was an impressive way to break maidens.

The Danny O’Brien-trained gelding had raced in tough races to kick off his career, and the penny might have dropped now.

Take the $2.60 odds before more money comes for him.

Stake: 3 Units
