From the Block keeps winning races after making it three on the bounce in Adelaide this preparation.
The Jolly-trained runner gets a chance in Melbourne, and although this is a rise in class, the five-year-old looks good enough to handle it.
Take the each-way odds in the opener.
Stake: 1 Unit
We have dropped Federer and we’re going with Nana’s Wish, who has been a consistent runner this preparation.
The Ciaron Maher-trained mare won at Canterbury and Warwick Farm before running third at Randwick, and form in Sydney is ideal.
The odds are much better than we expected, so include her in picks.
Stake: 1.5 Units
We’re sticking with Sacred Rocks, who kicked off this prep with two wins in Sydney, and she’s another Sydney-based mare with massive upside in Melbourne.
The five-year-old daughter of Sacred Falls owns three wins and three placings from seven starts, so her overall record is impressive.
$4.80 is a good price from bookmakers.
Stake: 1.5 Units
We love backing Stylish, who scored another impressive win at Flemington last start, and she only needs to bring that form to Caulfield.
The five-year-old mare is a five-time winner overall, and although she likes a track with more room, her class should take her close.
Having Blake Shinn in the saddle adds to her appeal.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Looking to score three consecutive wins is Jimmy Recard, who looked impressive when winning at Flemington last time out.
This is a very hot field for the Vain Stakes, but the Ciaron Maher-trained runner is good enough to handle the heat.
Getting the inside draw is ideal, so the colt could settle close and kick strongly.
Stake: 1.5 Units
There is good hype around Scenic Point, who was unbeaten during her first preparation with wins at Pakenham and Caulfield.
The three-year-old filly by Written Tycoon paid $1.40 when winning last time out, so the expectations have been high throughout her career.
It’s a good field, but she’s the best of them.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Royal Insignia has yet to win fresh up, but the four-year-old comes off two jumpout wins, so he looks ready to go.
The son of Written Tycoon was good enough to run in the Australian Guineas in the autumn, so he has class on his side.
Getting the inside draw with 54kg on his back is ideal.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Evaporate could be the most forward for this race after looking good in recent jumpouts.
The Hayes-trained four-year-old is a five-time winner overall, and with Private Eye missing a run in Sydney last week, it might not be in an ideal position to win.
That leaves the race there for Evaporate to win, so include him in picks.
Stake: 2 Units
Forgot You is taking his time to get back into the winners’ enclosure, but we’re happy to give him another chance.
The seven-year-old son of Savabeel ran second at Caulfield last time out, so he’s threatening to score an overdue win.
Shinn rides, so snap up the $8.50 odds before money comes for him.
