Gilded Water showed good ability last preparation when winning at Kembla Grange and Randwick before placing behind Tajanis at Rosehill.
The Ciaron Maher-trained runner shouldn’t mind kicking off over 1800m, and there has been solid money come for him.
We’re happy to back him against this level of opposition.

Punters get each-way odds for On Display, who owns two wins and two placings from eight career starts.
The four-year-old mare by Fastnet Rock won at Morphettville before spelling last season, and she could return in the same fashion.
Her recent jumpouts have been good, so she looks ready to run well.

We’re happy to take the each-way odds for Jenni The Fox, who did enough when running at The Valley fresh up.
The four-year-old mare by Too Darn Hot hit the line nicely, suggesting this race should be right up her alley over 1400m.
She owns a second-up win, so this is the time to back her.

Newlook needed the run first-up in Australia, and now the imported runner could show his best form down under.
The son of New Bay ended his career in Europe with three consecutive wins, and it’s only a matter of time before that form is franked in Australia.
Carrying 54kg is a steal, and punters get a healthy $7 price.

Looking to make an early impression this spring is River of Stars, who runs her best races fresh up with five starts for a win and three placings.
The former imported runner took on tough fields in her first Australian prep, including running third behind Arapaho in the Sydney Cup.
This is much shorter, but she owns a placing from her only attempt at 1700m.

We though Vinrock would be the favourite for this race, and although it’s a hot field, he hasn’t done anything wrong in his career.
The unbeaten colt by I Am Invincible won at Pakenham and Flemington before taking on a hot field in Sydney and winning narrowly over State Visit.
That form is best for his return to Melbourne, and his jumpout form has been encouraging.
Stake: 2 Units
Mazu hasn’t been the easiest runner to follow recently, but if there is any moisture in the surface, his chances of winning increase.
With rain expected over the next three days, his odds could shorten. He owns five heavy-track wins, and with over $9 million in the bank, he’s all class.
Take the odds before a late betting plunge comes.

We have been impressed with the way Gerringong has hit the line in Queensland, and she could sneak under the radar on Saturday.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained mare comes off three consecutive placings, where she has put the writing on the wall with each run.
She’s highly touted, and good enough to beat this field at $7.

Sepals could be in for a successful spring after winning three consecutive races last preparation.
