Mr Verse was last seen running a close sixth behind Gilded Water, which is one of the better stayers going around.
Dropping to 1700m shouldn’t do his chances any harm, having won over 1600m at Sandown two back when beating Butternut Princess.
It’s an even betting field, so include him at the odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Barari was a good thing beaten at The Valley last start, finishing fifth behind Bedourie and Prestar, but never getting a look at them.
The three-year-old filly should get more room to move off a wide draw, and although she could get caught wide, she will at least get a clear run at them.
There are some nice types in this race, but she has winning claims.
Stake: 1 Unit
We’re prepared to give Young Werther another chance given the fields he has faced this preparation.
The enigmatic Group 1 winner comes off an eight behind Sir Delius, who is one of the fancies to win the big races later this spring.
He should roll forward and give punters a good sight.
Stake: 1 Unit
It could pay to forget Oh Too Good went around at Moonee Valley last start after getting caught wide, and she should be better suited to Caulfield.
The six-year-old mare owns two placings from two starts here, and boasting five wins from 14 starts, she is the one to beat.
Barrier five is ideal, so she should settle handy and be too tough for them.
Stake: 2 Units
We understand the betting support for King Zephyr, who knuckled down nicely to win last start, but Zou Sensation has been facing harder fields.
The six-year-old son of Zoustar ran behind Sepals last start, who is our top pick to win the Toorak Handicap, so that form checks out.
He draws well, and he could hold off the fast-finishing favourite.
Stake: 1 Unit

Niance knows how to win races, having posted seven from 12 starts, and not everything went her way in the Group 1 Moir.
She had to go wide around the home turn, which killed her momentum, but getting the inside draw should see her settle handy and kick well.
It’s a good stakes field, but she demands attention.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Punters get value odds in the last race with She’s Got Pizzazz, who did enough behind Miraval Rose last start at Caulfield.
The four-year-old mare has a solid second-up record, and having Blake Shinn in the saddle from barrier six only helps her chances.
It’s a tough betting field, so take the value available.
Stake: 1 Unit
