Al Duca owns four wins and five placings from 12 starts, and he doesn’t know how to run a bad race over the mile.
The five-year-old son of Al Maher has yet to finish worse than second with the jockey on board, so there aren’t too many things going against him.
The draw is tricky, but if he gets cover, he could finish best.
Stake: 2 Units
Paradise City ran well for third fresh up at Sandown, which should be a good form guide for this race.
The five-year-old mare by Deep Field owns two wins over the distance, and with cover from the draw, she should be tough to beat.
She’s due a win, so we’re happy to take the odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Looking to make a winning run fresh up is She’s Got Pizzazz, who owns a win and two placings from three fresh up starts.
The four-year-old daughter of Zoustar owns three wins from 10 starts overall, and she could have a nice spring race in her future.
It’s an even betting field, so we’re including her in our horse racing picks.
Stake: 2 Units
Nadal is better than his form suggests, and he could get back to winning form at Caulfield on Saturday.
The five-year-old looks brilliant when he wins, and although he has yet to win fresh up, he’s good enough to handle this field.
Carrying 61kg is well within his range over 1100m.
Stake: 1 Unit
Planet Red made solid ground from the back at The Valley last time out, which was a solid run in defeat.
The three-year-old son of Admire Mars showed good speed prior when scoring at Pakenham and Sandown, and although this is a tough race, he’s good enough.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see a betting push on race day.
Stake: 1 Unit
Looking to remain unbeaten is Vivid Sun, who won on debut at Ballarat before scoring at Sandown in fine fashion last start.
The three-year-old filly by The Autumn Sun won by 2.3 lengths, and she put them away with relative ease at midweek level.
Look for her to settle midfield and come with a late run.

Birdman hasn’t been far away from posting a win this season, and coming from Sydney to Melbourne is a good sign.
The Waller-trained stayer was excellent over 1400m fresh up when placing behind War Eternal, and that’s an excellent form guide.
His run behind Lindermann last start was solid, so include him in each-way picks.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Looking to improve on a fresh up third placing at Caulfield is Gilded Water, who owns three wins and three placings from eight starts.
The five-year-old son of Fastnet Rock showed class when winning at Randwick last campaign, and it’s only a matter of time before he wins.
His second-up form is good, so he’s worth backing.
