Centenary Sprint Cup Form Guide & Tips

(1) Ka Ying Rising (Best Bet – $1.05)

The best sprinter in the world, and the rightful favourite. Punters won’t get rich from $1.05, but he won’t be beaten on Sunday, and he should win by many lengths.

The Everest winner is enjoying a long winning streak, and there are no runners in this field capable of beating him.

(2) Helios Express (Best Roughie – $19.00)

Punters get good place odds for Helios Express, who is a $2.90 chance to finsh in the first two. He’s running for second, but he’s good enough to quinella the race with Ka Ying Rising.

Hugh Bowman rides, and he should be hitting the line nicely. He’s likely to fight for second place with Fast Network.

(3) Fast Network (Best Each Way – $12.00)

Our top pick to finish second at $2.20. He ran well for second two back before finishing third last time out behind Ka Ying Rising, which is the best form guide.

Having James McDonald riding only helps his chances of finishing ahead of the rest of the field, so include him in Centenary Sprint Cup picks.

(4) Raging Blizzard ($19.00)

He has been threatening to win after posting a second placing behind Ka Ying Rising last start. He was paying $113 to win, so it was a much better effort than expected.

We don’t think he has a repeat of that effort in the locker, and although he’s a first four pick, there is better place value elsewhere.

(5) Tomodachi Kokoroe ($41.00)

The former Queenslander hasn’t handled the pressure of big-time racing recently, so we’re leaving him out of our picks this time around.

He has loomed to feature in the placings, but he hasn’t been finishing it off. That’s a concern, so leave him out.

(6) Beauty Waves ($151.00)

The triple-figure odds are telling. His form this preparation has been awful, and he might be looking for much easier racing now.

(7) Lucky With You ($51.00)

Another runner struggling to cope with Group 1 racing. Unlikely to be a threat at any stage.
