Champions & Chater Cup Form Guide & Tips
(1) Voyage Bubble (Best Bet – $1.66)
The Hong Kong champion was downed by Red Lion last start, but the best way to get past defeat is to win.
He is a stunning type, and with that fresh up run under his belt, he will only be better prepared to take on a tougher field.
Take the short odds and include him in horse racing multis.
(2) Dubai Honour (Best Each Way – $2.75)
Dubai Honour isn’t paying each-way odds, but he’s clearly the second-best horse in the race, so we’re backing him in quinella bets.
The European won the Tancred Stakes at Randwick two back before placing behind Via Sistina in the Queen Elizabeth, so the form is outstanding.
He’s good enough to win, but he might have to settle for second.
(3) Cap Ferrat (Best Roughie – $17.00)
The former Australian won the Hong Kong Derby two back before finishing fifth behind Tastiera in the QEII Cup.
That’s a strong form guide for this race, and the son of Snitzel has always had top-level ability. He’s up to the best in this race on his day, so include in picks at the odds.
(4) Ensued ($26.00)
Ensued is never too far away from the prize, boasting four wins and six placings from 18 starts.
We don’t mind including him in first four selections at the odds, and although we can’t see him winning the race, having Purton riding helps, and he could figure in the finish.
(5) Moments in Time ($67.00)
He won well three back, but that only came at Happy Valley. He was well-held last time out in the QEII, and we can’t see him turning that form around.
(6) Rubylot ($17.00)
Rubylot is another runner worth including in first four picks. He was three lengths behind the winner in the QEII and fifth behind Cap Ferrat in the Derby.
His recent form needs to improve, but he has ability, and he could loom to win at some stage down the straight.
(7) Five G Patch ($51.00)
His form has tapered off this season, and the odds tell the story. We can’t see him being a winning threat at any stage.
(8) La City Blanche ($101.00)
He is another runner struggling to show his best form. It has been some time since he’s shown anything, and he should finish near the tail of the field.
(9) Winning Dragon ($41.00)
Winning Dragon owns two placings from his last three starts. However, that form came at lower levels, and this will be much harder.
(10) Bundle Award ($15.00)
Money has come for the four-year-old, who owns six wins from 12 starts. He comes off a Group 3 win, but this is a big rise in class, so we’re not thrilled by the odds.
