Cranbourne racing tips

Race 1. (17:45) Ladbrokes Hosted Pots Maiden (1400m)

#5 – Savannah Queen @ $3.40

Savannah Queen wasn’t too far away when running fourth on debut at Pakenham, and she will be better for the experience.

The three-year-old filly by Savabeel hit the line impressively after setting back in the field, so rising to 1400m adds to her appeal.

We’re includng her in our picks at the current odds.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (18:15) Hygain Edge Maiden (1600m)

#2 – Impulsive Reaction @ $1.55

Impulsive Reaction hit the line impressively on debut at Warrnambool, which should be a good form guide.

The three-year-old son of Shamus Award runs at short odds for Friday’s race, but he is a good multi bet inclusion at the price.

He will get back in the run and hit the line with purpose.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 3. (18:45) Summerset Retirement Village Maiden (1000m)

#1 – Aragog @ $6.00

Punters get value each-way odds for Aragog, who looked good when winning a jumpout at Pakenham.

The two-year-old colt by Dundeel is bred to be better than average, and he could make a winning debut in a tough maiden field.

The odds make him a worthwhile inclusion in horse racing picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (19:15) Paint Place Cranbourne BM66 (1000m)

#8 – Caffettiera @ $3.30

Boasting a win and three placings from five starts is Caffettiera, who ran second behind She’s My Ex last time out at Pakenham.

The three-year-old filly by Too Darn Hot won her only second-up start, and getting Jamie Mott in the saddle won’t hurt her chances.

$3.30 is a good price after opening at $2.45.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (19:45) Shawn Mendis Lawyers BM62 (1300m)

#6 – Lady Sadler @ $2.50

Strong bets have come for Lady Sadler, who ran second behind the talented Tennessee Bound last preparation.

The Clinton McDonald-trained mare owns a win and two placings from 10 starts, and she could have easily won more races.

This is her best chance to return to winning form.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 6. (20:15) Designer Coolrooms BM62 (2025m)

#5 – So Suave @ $4.40

Looking to improve on recent form is So Suave, who is a nice type on his day, and he’s nearing a second career win.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding ran fifth at Ballarat last time out, and coming to Cranbourne could be enough to take him close.

It’s an even betting field, so the each-way odds are worth taking.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (20:45) VTR Medical BM62 (1500m)

#7 – Topmost @ $7.00

Topmost is only a one-time winner from 13 starts, but he has been close to the mark with 10 placings.

The four-year-old son of Overshare has yet to finish worse than third in seven attempts at Cranbourne, which is an excellent record.

Getting the inside draw is enough to take him close, and he’s an excellent value bet.

Stake: 1.5 Units
