Eagle Farm racing tips

Race 1. (12:33) Souths Sports Club Maiden (1400m)

#2 – Chicago King

Chicago King had mixed luck during his first preparation, but he owns five placings from seven starts overall.

The Michael Freedman-trained gelding had been running in Victoria, so coming to Queensland could see his form improve to a race win.

Anything around $3.70 is a good price from bookmakers.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (13:08) Mekka Raceday Maiden (1000m)

#2 – Meldubious

Meldubious has looked good at the trials, including a win at Deagon, and he looks ready to post a debut win.

The four-year-old son of Dubious has been patiently handled, and this stable knows how to get them ready for race day.

Look for any positive betting moves on race day.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 3. (13:43) Become a BRC Member Maiden (1000m)

#3 – Boss Mode

Boss Mode wasn’t too far away from the winner on debut when running third at Gold Coast and having experience under his belt helps.

The three-year-old son of Encryption was in a handy position before holding that position in the straight, and he will be stronger now.

Punters should get each-way odds on race day.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:18) Country Music Raceday C4 (1400m)

#2 – Facundo

Facundo couldn’t make it three consecutive wins last time out at Doomben, but he hit the line well enough.

The four-year-old had looked good when winning at Doomben and Eagle Farm, so having winning form on the track is ideal.

He’s the one to beat in a tricky midweek field.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 5. (14:53) Spring Carnival on Sale Now BM65 (1600m)

#6 – Ready for the Trip

Ready for the Trip was too quick for them at Eagle Farm last time out, and he’s good enough to rise through the grades now.

The five-year-old might have taken nine starts to break maidens, but the two-length win was a stylish performance.

We expect him to be around the mark again, so include him in horse racing picks.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (15:28) Sky Racing BM70 (1000m)

#8 – Fragile Love

Fragile Love came from Victoria with good form, and she didn’t let us down with an effortless 2.3-length win at Eagle Farm.

We can’t believe the $8 odds punters got last time out, but the Matthew Dunn-trained mare won’t be paying that again.

Getting 3kg off her back only adds to her appeal.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (16:03) XXXX Gold C1 (1000m)

#13 – Exoflow

Exoflow showed good pace when winning fresh up at Grafton, and although he didn’t fire last start, he’s good enough to bounce back.

The three-year-old colt by Exosphere gets every chance to bounce back with Ryan Maloney riding, so it could pay to check for late betting moves.

He has good bounce back qualities, and it’s an open field.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (16:38) Ladbrokes Fast Payouts BM65 (1200m)

#12 – Zoufani

Zoufani hasn’t done much wrong to start her career, including a debut win at Ipswich and a second placing at Eagle Farm.

The four-year-old mare by Zousain will need some luck from the wide draw, but she has enough ability to cross the field.

Punters should get each-way odds from bookmakers.

Stake: 1 Unit
