Eagle Farm racing tips

Race 1. (12:08) Become a BRC Member BM78 (1600m)

#5 – Habeebah @ $4.00

Habeebah wasn’t far away when third fresh up, and she owns a win and a placing from three second-up starts.

The six-year-old mare by I Am Invincible is a four-time winner from 14 starts overall, and the Gollan/Jones combo could strike.

Take the odds as she will likely firm on race day.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (12:43) Eagle Farm 160 Years C6 (1200m)

#10 – Sicilian @ $3.40

Sicilian got back to winning form last time out at Doomben, and she’s good enough to go back-to-back.

The Gollan-trained five-year-old is bred to be better than average and getting in with 55.5kg on her back adds to her appeal.

The $3.40 could shorten on race day, so snap up the early odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:18) Happy Horses' Birthday C3 (1000m)

#8 – Vindicta @ $2.30

Gunning for back-to-back wins is Vindicta, who justified the short odds when scoring by 3.8 lengths at Sunshine Coast.

The five-year-old son of Rothesay owns two wins and three placings from eight starts, so his overall record is impressive.

Barrier four should see him get every chance in the run, so put him on top.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 4. (13:53) Sky Racing BM70 (1815m)

#6 – Victory Command @ $7.50

Seeking consecutive wins is Victory Command, who won at Eagle Farm in fine style, and he’s good enough to go back-to-back.

The five-year-old son of Pierro is a two-time winner at the track and over the distance, so the statistics bode well.

It’s an even betting field, and the odds are generous.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (14:28) Country Music Raceday BM90 (1815m)

#1 – Tuff Tu Mus @ $2.05

Boasting an impressive six wins from eight starts, Tuff Tu Mus keeps delivering the goods for punters.

The five-year-old son of All Too Hard held off a good field last time out at Doomben, and he has a good record at Eagle Farm.

He’s the best horse in the race and that should be evident on Saturday.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 6. (15:03) U&U Recruitment Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Spanish Treasure @ $3.90

Looking to cap off consecutive placings with a win is Spanish Treasure, who was only a half-length behind Alpha Sofie last time out.

The three-year-old son of Pierata is in good hands with Gollan, and he only needs a touch of luck from the wide barrier. However, having Jones in the saddle helps.

His odds have shortened, so lock in the current price.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 7. (15:43) Moreton Hire BM70 (1400m)

#16 – Aolani @ $16.00

Punters get value odds for Aolani, who won well at Dalby two back before coming to town and finishing third behind Sultry Siren at Doomben.

The six-year-old mare by Frosted is a six-time winner from 18 starts overall, so it’s tough to overlook her chances against this company.

Dropping in weight is ideal, so take the odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (16:18) Eva Air Handicap (1000m)

#2 – Metalart @ $3.20

Boasting eight wins from 15 starts is Metalart, who is having an excellent preparation after scoring at Eagle Farm last time out.

The Kelly Schweida-trained is a three-time winner at Doomben, so he loves the track, and punters get fair odds from bookmakers.

3kg comes off his back, and his class should take him close.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 9. (16:50) Ladbrokes Form Genius C6 (1200m)

#13 – Pereille @ $2.35

Money has come for Pereille, which isn’t surprising given his last-start second placing at Flemington.

Coming to Queensland only helps his chances of scoring an overdue win, and although he’s only a four-time winner overall, he has faced tough fields.

The former Cummings-trained runner could enjoy the new environment, so keep him safe.

Stake: 2.5 Units
