Eagle Farm racing tips

Race 1. (11:5) Become a BRC Member BM70 (1000m)

#11 – Arisphere @ $6.00

Punters get value odds for Arisphere, who has been right around the mark this prep without winning.

The Tony Gollan stable has made a good start to the season, and that run could continue with the six-year-old mare by Exosphere.

Getting weight off her back could be enough to turn the tables.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (12:28) The Gibson BM90 (2200m)

#2 – The Right Way @ $3.30

Looking to continue going the right way is The Right Way, who won at Doomben last start by 3.5 lengths.

That was an easy win for the six-year-old, who gets the services of Emily Lang and her 1.5kg claim, which is imported up in the weights.

He’s a professional nine-time winner, and he’s worth including.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 3. (13:03) Southern Pacific Sands BM70 (1800m)

#9 – Ready for the Trip @ $7.00

Punters got value odds when we tipped out Ready for the Trip last start, and there is no reason to jump off his back.

The Gollan-trained gelding comes off back-to-back wins at Eagle Farm, and he’s yet to finish worse than second at this track.

Ryan Maloney rides, and he’s good enough to win again.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (13:38) Sky Racing Handicap (1400m)

#1 – Whispering Rogue @ $2.80

We’re backing Whispering Rogue to score another win after winning two starts back at Doomben before placing at Eagle Farm.

He might have been beaten last start as a $5 chance, but he stuck to his guns nicely, and that’s a good sign of things to come.

Getting the inside draw could see him lead and kick strongly.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 5. (14:13) Spring Carnival Book Now C6 (1600m)

#1 – Cunnamulla Fella @ $6.00

Seeking back-to-back wins is Cunnamulla Fella, who got the better of a small field at Eagle Farm.

He might have beaten only four rivals, but he got the better of Yet He Mooves, so the form should check out nicely at this level.

Getting 3kg off his back could be enough to see him win at nice odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (14:48) U&U Recruitment BM85 (1200m)

#8 – Street Chase @ $4.40

A solid each-way play is Street Chase, who runs his best races fresh up with two starts for a win and a placing.

The four-year-old son of Zoustar owns two wins and four placings overall, so it has been a positive start to his career.

It’s an open race, so take the $4.40 odds as a value bet.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 7. (15:23) Celebrating 160 Years of Eagle Farm Handicap (1400m)

#6 – Slippin’ Jimmy @ $5.00

Looking for back-to-back wins is Slippin’ Jimmy, who showed them a clean pair of heels when scoring at Doomben by 1.5 lengths.

The five-year-old extended his record to seven wins from 15 starts, and although he’s yet to run at Eagle Farm, the track should suit his style.

He drops to 50.5kg for this race, which is a luxury weight.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 8. (16:02) XXXX BM78 (1400m)

#13 – Sultry Siren @ $11.00

Sultry Siren is enjoying a successful campaign, including two wins and multiple placings for trainer Robert Heathcote.

The five-year-old mare by Snitzel always runs well with Taylor Marshall in the saddle, boasting two wins and two placings, so that bodes well.

Given the odds, we can’t leave her out of our picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (16:38) Ladbrokes Quick Multi C4 (1200m)

#14 – Field of Myrtle @ $20.00

Field of Myrtle is a past fresh up winner, and although she’s not always the most consistent type going around, she’s good enough to win this race.

The five-year-old mare by Deep Field is a four-time winner overall, and she could strike in a fresh state on Saturday.

The odds are generous, so include her in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit
