—
Aripshere comes off a good third placing at Gold Coast, which should be a good form guide for this race.
The five-year-old mare by Exosphere comes from the Tony Gollan stable, and that is why she has been well-backed to win.
Take the $4 odds before they firm throughout the week.
Stake: 1 Unit
Berezka meets an even field on Saturday, and it won’t take her long to post another win after finishing fourth at Rosehill last start.
The three-year-old filly by Xtravagant owns a win and three placings from eight starts, and it’s another premium ride for Angela Jones on Saturday.
Getting $3.30 is a fair price given her talent.
Stake: 1 Unit
Northern Decree ran well when third fresh up at Eagle Farm, and although he didn’t fire at Sunshine Coast last time out, we’re happy to forgive that run.
The five-year-old son of War Decree is a six-time winner overall, so he has class on his side, and getting an inside draw is ideal.
It’s another good ride for Jones, so include him in picks.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Chica Mojito is only a one-time winner overall, but she has been knocking on the door after two placings from three starts this prep.
The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old owns nine placings from 20 starts, so she’s consistent and good enough to beat this field at the weights.
She gets in with 52.5kg and the inside draw, which is tough to overlook.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Spanish Treasure was heavily backed on debut when running second, and it was a good effort to get off the mark.
The two-year-old son of Pierata is paying better odds this time around, and although there is more depth to this field, he is one of the top hopes.
Take the $4 for yet another Jones ride.
Stake: 2 Units
Brereton has been backed and beaten a few times this season, and although his form isn’t good enough, we’re giving him one more chance.
The five-year-old son of Zoustar is a better than a three-time winner, mostly because he has faced tough opposition throughout his career.
The odds are shortening once again, so jump on the $4.60 odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
It’s an open field and Big Boy George could take advantage with his third win from his last four starts.
The Matt Currie-trained four-year-old is a four-time winner from 21 starts, and his confidence levels should be high after recent success.
Take the value odds available with bookmakers.
Stake: 1 Unit
Boasting two wins from three starts this campaign is Kiwi Spirit, who scored last time out at Sunshine Coast with a 1.3-length win.
The three-year-old son of Grunt has finished out of the money only once from five starts, and his best form comes over the distance.
That should be enough to take him close at each-way odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Caspernova had its chance to win last time out, but he just got too far back and had too much to do in the straight.
The four-year-old son of Spirit of Boom owns four wins and five placings from 11 starts, and that’s a terrific record.
Take the $2.60 odds before more money comes for him.
Stake: 2 Units
