Flemington Racing Tips for Saturday, September 12th 2026First race in 1d 17h

It’s one of the biggest days on the Melbourne Spring Carnival so far, where the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes takes centre stage. There is a wealth of stakes racing action, where good thoroughbreds are in action, and punters are excited. It pays to follow the classy runners at this time of the year, and Flemington’s 10-race card on Saturday could be a happy hunting ground for punters.

Race 1. (12:10) Tab We’re On BM84 (1200m)

#2 - Eagle Express @ $6.00

BET NOW

Looking for back-to-back wins is Eagle Express, who scored a gutsy win at Rosehill last time out.

Form in Sydney should stack up nicely at Flemington, and the five-year-old mare by Alabama Express loves running over this distance.

Her form at Flemington isn’t ideal, but she might have come of age now.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (12:40) Michael Moroney Stakes (1400m)

#5 - Lara Antipova @ $7.50

BET NOW

We’re prepared to give Lara Antipova another chance after flopping at Caulfield last time out.

She was well-beaten, but the New Zealand runner showed class across the Tasman, and she’s much better than what she showed.

Te Akau would love a big win this season, so stick with her.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:15) Cap D’Antibes Stakes (1100m)

#1 - Streisand @ $5.00

BET NOW

We are putting established form and class ahead in this field, so we’re going with Streisand to win.

The Clinton McDonald-trained filly won the Blue Diamond last season before taking on tough fields that were harder than this.

59.5kg is a leveler, but she’s a tough type who will give punters a sight on the speed.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (13:50) Schweppes Poseidon Stakes (1110m)

#6 - Mbube @ $3.40

BET NOW

There have been some big bets placed on Mbube after opening at $4, and that’s a good sign for the colt.

The three-year-old son of Rubick scored easily on debut at Sandown when cruising past them late, and he is good enough to step up in grade.

Mark Zahra rides from a good barrier, and he could be a nice type on the rise.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (14:30) Lexus Archer Stakes (2500m)

#9 - Think Giant @ $6.50

BET NOW

Think Giant didn’t get all favours in the run last time out, and he’s a big bloke who needs clear running room.

He should get a good trip in transit from barrier four, where hopefully Jamie Melham has him on the outside of runners in clear air.

He can let down in the straight, and he’s worth another chance at $6.50.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (15:05) De Bortoli Tontonan Stakes (1400m)

#8 - Sass Appeal @ $2.90

BET NOW

Sass Appeal didn’t lose any admirers when running fourth in a tough race last start, which ended her winning streak.

The four-year-old mare is unbeaten in four attempts at Flemington, so coming back to this track only helps her chances.

54kg is ideal, and her winning form could return on Saturday.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 7. (15:40) HKJC World Pool Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m)

#5 - Oliveanotherday @ $1.80

BET NOW

Oliveanotherday is a quality thoroughbred who keeps winning, and we see no reason to leave him out of horse racing picks.

The four-year-old son of Nicconi made it six wins from eight starts with a win at Caulfield last start, and that wasn’t an easy race.

Barrier eight down the straight is ideal, so he’s the one to include in multi bets.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 9. (16:55) Asahi Super Dry Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m)

#1 - Salty Pearl @ $6.00

BET NOW

Salty Pearl is a classy mare who should have won more than three races, but she will appreciate racing in this company.

The four-year-old mare by Tagaloa comes off a third placing behind Custom, and that should be a good form guide for this race.

Look for her to settle midfield and kick well in the straight.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 10. (17:25) Ronald McDonald House Vic/Tas Trophy (1700m)

#13 - Storm Leopard @ $3.10

BET NOW

It was a big run for Storm Leopard when running fifth at Caulfield last start, and it was one of the better non-winning runs of the day.

The four-year-old looks to have matured nicely from his 3YO season, and it shouldn’t take him long to win a race this time in.

Craig Williams riding with 54kg gives him every chance to win.

Stake: 1.5 Units
