Grafton racing tips

Race 1. (11:10) Free Entry Today Maiden (1015m)

#2 – Exoflow

Exoflow ran well on debut when third at Grafton before spelling, and he could come back a much stronger type.

The two-year-old son of Exosphere has since had a trial win at Gold Coast, so he looks ready to fire in his comeback run.

Look for a betting push on race day.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (11:45) Williams Group Maiden (1015m)

#11 – Steffi Electrica

Steffi Electrica has been knocking on the door after posting three placings from four starts, which is a good record.

The Edmonds-trained two-year-old filly won’t take long to exit maiden company, and she should be well-backed to score on Sunday.

Take the opening odds with bookies.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 3. (12:20) Herb Blanchard Haulage BM64 (1420m)

#4 – Insinuate

Insinuate won well three back at Casino, and she has been knocking on the door since with back-to-back placings.

The three-year-old filly by Snitzel wasn’t far away last time out at Murwillumbah, which should be a good form guide for this race.

Getting 2kg off her back is enough to take her close.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (13:00) McKimms Real Estate Grafton Cup Prelude (2230m)

#1 – Full of Sincerity

Full of Sincerity scored an impressive win at Ballina fresh up before running some good races in defeat.

The Matthew Dunn-trained is only a two-time winner from 22 starts, but those both came on heavy tracks, so the conditions are ideal.

He carries a big weight but he’s good enough to get the job done.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (13:40) MacLean Hotel Maiden (1720m)

#2 – Fantastic Beast

Fantastic Beast has been struggling to show his best form this season, but he showed a glimpse when running third at Tamworth.

That run should give punters confidence that he can break through at his 13th start, and Melanie O’Gorman usually gets the best out of her runners.

We’re happy to include him at what should be each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (14:20) Grafton Sheetmetal C1 (1190m)

#2 – City Speed Gold

Gunning for back-to-back wins is City Speed Gold, who scored by just under a length at Inverell.

That wasn’t a great form race, but the three-year-old showed good toughness to win, and that’s a good asset to have.

Anything around each-way odds are worth taking.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (15:00) Who's Charlie Here on Sunday C1 (1190m)

#4 – Dashing Basics

Dashing Basics won at Gatton two back before placing at Ipswich, which is good enough form for racing at Grafton.

The three-year-old son of Zousain gets all favours from an inside draw, and this isn’t the hottest field he’ll ever see.

Look for market confidence on Sunday.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 8. (15:40) Grafton Gas & Plumbing John Carlton Quality (1190m)

#9 – Yendy

Yendy owns four wins and two placings from 13 starts, and it’s only a matter of time before she gets back to winning form.

The four-year-old daughter of Magnus doesn’t mind heavy tracks, owning a placing from two attempts, so the conditions aren’t too bad.

It’s not an easy field, but she has upside.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 9. (16:20) Dougherty Property Belflyer Prelude C3 (1115m)

#5 – Written Fame

Written Fame showed good speed last preparation when winning before placing at Murwillumbah.

The four-year-old gelding by Winning Rupert gets a valuable 2kg off his back for this run, which should take him back.

Money should come for him on race day.

Stake: 2 Units
