Happy Valley Racing Tips for Wednesday, July 9th 2025

We have expert betting tips for racing at Happy Valley on Wednesday, which includes nine races at the midweek meeting.

Punters get good value odds for the Hong Kong racing feature, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Happy Valley racing tips

Race 1. (20:40) Hawthorn Handicap (1000m)

#7 – So Awesome

So Awesome has been all around the mark recently without winning, but we’re happy to give him another chance in this race.

The eight-year-old son of Rip Van Winkle doesn’t have much to beat in this field, and punters should expect each-way odds on race night.

He’s due a win and he won’t get a better opportunity.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (21:10) Magnolia Handicap (1650m)

#4 – Windicator Family

We’re going with another consistent runner in Windicator Family, who won four starts back at Happy Valley before adding placings in three consecutive runs.

The five-year-old son of Press Statement is a three-time winner overall, and some of his best racing comes at Happy Valley.

Barrier three is ideal, so he should get a good run from there.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 3. (21:40) Garden Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Tactical Command

Tactical Command scored back-to-back wins earlier this preparation and something close to that form should be good enough.

The five-year-old son of Charm Spirit owns three wins and five placings at Happy Valley, and there isn’t much to beat in this field.

Alex Badel sticks with him and we see no reason not to.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 4. (22:10) Fo Po Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Lean Master

Lean Master is gunning for consecutive wins after scoring at Happy Valley by 1.2 lengths last time out, which is a good form guide.

The five-year-old son of Havana Grey turned his form around nicely, and he could snare another win before the season ends.

Punters should expect each-way odds on race night.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 5. (22:40) Green Handicap (1650m)

#11 – Meepmeep

Meepmeep broke maidens earlier this preparation and having Zac Purton in the saddle adds to his appeal.

The five-year-old son of Not a Single Doubt hasn’t been far away with six placings from 17 starts, and the last time Purton rode him he won.

Carrying 55kg is ideal, so he goes in the mix.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 6. (23:10) Briar Handicap (1000m)

#11 – The All Out

Gunning to remain unbeaten is The All Out, who won by a nose on debut before winning again last time out at Sha Tin in open company.

The two-year-old son of Brutal has a nice future, and getting in with only 52kg on his back makes him tough to hold out.

Look for a market move on race night.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 7. (23:45) Garden Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Fortune Whiskey

Fortune Whiskey looks to cap off consistent form with a win after finishing second last time out at Happy Valley.

The four-year-old son of Embellish is a five-time winner overall, so he’s good enough to put this field away with ease.

Getting 2.5kg off his back is ideal, so he should go close.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 8. (00:15) Begonia Handicap (1800m)

#8 – Beauty Alliance

Beauty Alliance is a two-time winner at Happy Valley, and he wasn’t far away from the prize fresh up when placing at Sha Tin.

The four-year-old son of Starcraft paid $15 on that occasion, but punters should expect shorter odds on Wednesday night.

It could be another strong ride for Badel.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (00:50) Cotton Tree Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Power Koepp

Power Koepp has been a model of consistency throughout his career and especially recently, including two wins and three second placings.

The seven-year-old son of Equiano was only a short margin behind the winner at his last two, and he’s good enough to turn those around.

He loves running at Happy Valley, so include him in picks.

Stake: 2 Units
