Happy Valley racing tips

Race 1. (21:40) Conduit Handicap (1000m)

#4 – Nebraskan

Value odds should be with Nebraskan, who has been around the mark this season with three placings.

The John Size-trained gelding by Snitzel has yet to win at Happy Valley, but with seven placings at the track, he has been close.

Barrier four is ideal, so include him in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (22:10) Breezy Handicap (1200m)

#4 – King Glorioso

The six-year-old gelding by Satono Aladdin is a four-time winner from 17 starts, and his fresh up effort for fourth last start is a good guide.

He was only two lengths behind the winner as a $23 chance, and punters should expect shorter odds on Wednesday night.

He only needs luck from a wide draw to figure in the finish.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (22:40) Hatton Handicap (1650m)

#5 – Amazing Award

Looking to go one better than his last start second is Amazing Award, who was only a length behind the winner.

The five-year-old son of Kermadec has a good record at Happy Valley with two wins and four placings, and he could add to his record.

We expect each-way odds on race night, so snap up the value.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (23:10) Hatton Handicap (1650m)

#4 – Absolute Awakened

Absolute Awakened was disappointing last time out, but Zac Purton is back in the saddle, which is a good sign.

The five-year-old son of Ardrossan won well at Happy Valley three starts back, and that’s the best form guide for this race.

Money is likely to come on race night with the usual Purton supporters.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (23:40) The Craigengower Cricket Club Challeng Cup (1200m)

#3 – Bienvenue

Bienvenue has been close to breaking through this preparation after two runs, including a last-start placing at Happy Valley.

The four-year-old son of Star Turn owns two wins and four placings from nine starts at the track, and it’s another premium ride for Purton.

Getting the inside draw could be enough to get him over the line.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (00:10) Breezy Handicap (1200m)

#10 – Riding High

Riding High is having a good preparation, including a win at Sha Tin in January, followed by a last-start placing.

The five-year-old son of Exceed and Excel has yet to win at Happy Valley from five starts, but he’s getting close to posting a victory here.

Barrier 11 isn’t easy but getting in with 53.5kg is ideal.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 7. (00:45) Breezy Handicap (1200m)

#6 – Team Team Folks

Team Team Folks is already a winner this preparation, and returning to Happy Valley could see his best form return.

The four-year-old son of Super Seth won here fresh up before having two runs at Sha Tin, and his form is good enough to consider.

His win came at $83 odds, so expect something much lower.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (01:15) Bonham Handicap (1200m)

#9 – Meowth

Looking to cap off consecutive placings with a win is Meowth, who was backed into $3.20 last start when finishing second.

The five-year-old son of Showtime enjoys running at the track with six starts for a win and three placings, so his form stacks up well.

Getting in with a light weight could be enough to take him close.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 9. (01:50) Lyttelton Handicap (1800m)

#11 – China Win

Shooting for three consecutive wins is China Win, who won at Sha Tin by 2.5 lengths two back before scoring by a nose last time out.

The four-year-old son of Super Seth has finally hit his straps, which is good to see, and he could keep winning races.

Purton rides, and he could end the night with a bang.

Stake: 2 Units
