Kilmore racing tips

Race 1. (13:30) Bet365 Top Finishes Maiden (2007m)

#2 – Nightowl @ $4.50

Nightowl owns five placings from nine starts, and it’s about time he posted an overdue win.

The four-year-old son of Belardo ran second at Ballarat two back before posting a fourth last time out, and something close to that should be good enough.

He has another ability to score an upset over the short favourite.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (14:00) Gowanbrae Retirement Village Maiden (1607m)

#4 – Dealer Sing @ $2.60

Dealer Sing has been hammered in early betting markets after opening at $4, which is a good sign for a debutant.

The three-year-old son of Deep Field comes off two good jumpout efforts, including a win at Cranbourne, which is always good form.

He gets the inside draw, and John Allen riding is a positive.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 3. (14:30) Bundoora Retirement Village Maiden (1457m)

#9 – Mukatila @ $2.80

Mukatila is nearing a win after finishing second at Swan Hill last time out, and this race is there for the taking.

The Ben Brisbourne-trained filly by Flying Artie has improved with every run, and after opening at $3.10, there has been money for her.

Her odds could keep shortening, so take the $2.80.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (15:00) RMBL Investments Rising Stars BM62 (1207m)

#3 – Conflict @ $1.70

Conflict capped off three consecutive placings with a win at Geelong by 2.8 lengths, which is why he’s the short favourite to win.

The four-year-old son of Russian Revolution opened shorter at $1.55, so punters get a better price, and he should justify it on race day.

He’s a good horse racing multi bet inclusion.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 5. (15:30) Lancefield Golf Club Maiden (1207m)

#6 – He’s a Hustler @ $2.35

He’s a Hustler looks to cap off consecutive placings with a win, having placed at Wangaratta and Terang this preparation.

The McEvoy-trained gelding didn’t have all favours last start when being caught wide, so a more economical run would be a big help.

The odds should shorten on race day, so snap up the value.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (16:00) MC Labour BM56 (1607m)

#7 – Wambeen @ $5.50

Wambeen has been in work for some time this preparation, and he was good enough to post four consecutive placings.

The six-year-old son of Wandjina owns only one win from 23 starts, but it came in soft conditions, so he should enjoy the track.

It’s an even field, so include him in picks at each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:30) Broadstead Kilmore BM56 (1457m)

#4 – Pro Aussie @ $5.00

Pro Aussie ran well fresh up when second at Swan Hill, and not much improvement is needed to win this race.

The five-year-old son of Proisir ran at $11 last time out, so he exceeded expectations, and this race isn’t any harder.

Barrier three is ideal, so he gets every chance in the run.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (17:00) C&M Build Group BM62 (2007m)

#2 – Lunar Force @ $3.50

Lunar Force showed good speed to score on debut at Seymour before running fourth at Sandown last time out.

The three-year-old son of Ole Kirk wasn’t far behind Roulette King, who has since beaten a talented field at stakes level in Melbourne.

The form stacks up, so the odds are worth taking.

Stake: 2 Units
