Moonee Valley racing tips

Race 1. (12:20) Symal BM70 (2040m)

#11 – Foire De Trone @ $4.80

Foire De Trone comes off a good maiden win at Geelong when scoring by 1.3 lengths, and the stable clearly thinks something of her.

The four-year-old mare ran at Caulfield last preparation when failing to fire but having that experience in town is ideal.

Carrying 54kg is ideal, so we’re happy to back her at each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (12:55) Donnellans the Tyreman BM78 (2500m)

#11 – Jennivamoose @ $7.00

Jennivamoose won well two back at Sandown before finishing fourth at Sandown, and that form is solid enough to win at Moonee Valley.

The six-year-old mare by Vadamos owns a win and a placing at The Valley and getting in with 55.5kg on her back is ideal.

It’s an open field, but she should be right there to strike.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:30) Manhari BM74 (1200m)

#9 – Shadhavar @ $4.80

Fitter for two runs this preparation is Shadhavar, who ran third at Caulfield last time out behind Vain Champagne.

That form should stack up nicely, and the Tom Dabernig-trained runner is overdue a winning effort this preparation.

Getting 2kg off his back is enough to take him close at each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:05) Ladbrokes Top Betting BM100 (1000m)

#3 – Oak Hill @ $3.30

Boasting six wins from 13 starts is Oak Hill, who loves running fresh up with two wins from three attempts.

The talented son of Per Incanto is set for a big spring campaign, and some of his best wins have come at Moonee Valley. That’s a good sign, and this track shape suits him.

Getting the inside draw with Blake Shinn riding is ideal.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 5. (14:40) Darren Grech Myeloma BM74 (1000m)

#6 – Martial Music @ $15.00

Martial Music was too good for them at Cranbourne last start, and although he faces a stronger field, he’s good enough to go back-to-back.

The six-year-old son of Your Song showed good fight to score, which is a good asset, and he could pinch a break off the inside draw.

Getting $15 is a fair price from bookmakers.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (15:20) Ladbrokes SRM in Multis Handicap (1000m)

#11 – Esha @ $1.95

The three-year-old filly scored an impressive win on debut when scoring by 3.5 lengths at Morphettville, and it has massive upside.

She cost $900,000, and the daughter of Extreme Choice could keep winning despite facing harder opposition this time around.

After opening at $2.20, money has come thick and fast, which is a good sign.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 7. (15:55) Ranvet Travis Harrison Cup BM100 (2040m)

#5 – Sayedaty Sadaty @ $3.40

Sayedaty Sadaty comes off back-to-back wins at Caulfield and Flemington, and it’s good to see the penny has finally dropped.

The five-year-old son of Anodin showed a good turn-of-foot to win at Flemington, and he should handle running around The Valley for the first time.

Getting 2kg off his back adds to his appeal, so put him on top.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 8. (16:35) Edsa Group BM74 (1600m)

#7 – Farhh Flung @ $4.80

We have backed Farhh Flung to win his last two starts, and although he didn’t win, he showed good toughness to finish second at odds.

The seven-year-old is only a four-time winner, but he has been around the mark with 13 placings, including two wins at The Valley.

The odds are shortening, and he handles all track conditions.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (17:10) Drummond Golf BM84 (1200m)

#2 – Elouyou @ $7.00

Getting back to Moonee Valley could see Elouyou’s form turn around after some poor efforts at Sandown and Rosehill.

The Scott Cameron-trained son of So You Think is unbeaten in two starts at The Valley, and the tight-turning track is right up his alley.

Getting $7 is a good price, so we’re happy to put him on top.

Stake: 1 Unit
