Morphettville racing tips

Race 1. (12:22) Fast Form BM74 (1600m)

#2 – Starts Now @ $3.40

Starts Now dug deep to score at his last two starts at Murray Bridge and Morphettville, which is a good attribute to have.

The four-year-old son of Pierro is good enough to keep winning, and although he gets in with a big weight, he loves running at Morphettville.

Getting the inside draw helps and running on a rain-affected track is ideal.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 2. (12:47) Festival Hire Handicap (1050m)

#5 – Sixteen Reasons @ $3.90

Gunning for back-to-back wins is Sixteen Reasons, who went to Caulfield and was too good for them last time out.

The five-year-old mare should appreciate coming back to Adelaide, and she shouldn’t find this level of opposition any harder.

She gets the inside draw with 54kg, so everything points towards a win.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 3. (13:32) Skycity BM72 (1600m)

#1 – Snoopy Now @ $4.20

Snoopy Now wasn’t too far away from the prize last time out, and because of his ability, we’re happy to include him in picks.

He is enduring a lengthy winter campaign, but the three-year-old has form around some nice types, so the form checks out well for this race.

Take the each-way odds available with bookmakers.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:07) Fleurieu Milk Company C2 (1200m)

#2 – From the Block @ $2.40

From the Block has turned his form around impressively this preparation with wins at Gawler and Balaklava, and he could make it three on the bounce.

The Jolly-trained runner won by 9.3 lengths in dominant fashion last start, so that’s the best form guide for this race.

Include him in all picks at the current odds, which could firm.

Stake: 3.5 Units

Race 5. (14:42) Set a Deposit Limit BM76 (1200m)

#10 – Morris Minor @ $11.00

Boasting four wins from 14 starts is Morris Minor, who wasn’t far away fresh up when third at Murray Bridge.

The five-year-old was good enough to win twice last preparation, and it shouldn’t take him long to get back to winning form.

Given the odds, we’re happy to include him in picks against this level of opposition.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (15:22) Adelaide Galvinising Industries Handicap (1500m)

#8 – Flyway @ $11.00

Flyway won well three back at Gawler, and if he can get back to that form, he’s good enough to go close in this race.

The six-year-old son of Star Turn drops in weight with a 3kg apprentice in the saddle, so that helps his chances.

It’s an open field, so punters should include him for value.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:02) Dominant BM68 (2000m)

#2 – Dream All Day @ $4.50

Punters get each-way odds for Dream All Day, who comes off a tidy fourth at Sandown, and form in Victoria stacks up well in Adelaide.

The four-year-old mare by Savabeel had been facing tough opposition at Flemington, which is much harder than what she faces here.

Take the odds before money comes for her on race day.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 8. (16:37) Lightning Stakes (1050m)

#1 – Sir Now @ $7.00

It’s hard to bet against Sir Now after posting four consecutive wins, and although he faces a harder field on Saturday, he keeps measuring up.

The three-year-old son of Sir Prancelot isn’t going unnoticed with bookmakers, and the $7 odds could firm throughout the week.

He only needs luck from a wide barrier to go close in the feature race.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (17:12) Grand Syndicates Aaron Bain Racing Handicap (1100m)

#12 – Purfect Line @ $8.00

Value is with Purfect Line, who kicked off this prep with consecutive second placings before struggling to fire last time out.

He is good enough to get back to his best form, and despite running seventh last start, he wasn’t too far behind the winner.

Getting weight off his back only adds to his appeal, so take the odds.

Stake: 1 Unit
