Morphettville racing tips

Race 1. (12:24) The Junction BM76 (1600m)

#1 – Bootlegger @ $2.10

Bootlegger comes off a win at Morphettville, and facing a small field only helps his chances.

The three-year-old son of Too Darn Hot owns three wins and three placings from 10 starts, and the odds are likely to shorten throughout the week.

3kg comes off his back to help with the big weight.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 2. (12:57) Adelaide Galvanising Industries BM82 (1600m)

#5 – Cash @ $4.40

Looking to get back to winning form is Cash, who is getting close after back-to-back third placings at Murray Bridge and Morphettville.

The four-year-old son of Snitzel won his only start at the track, so getting back here should help him get over the line first.

Carrying 54kg is another positive.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:32) Winning Edge Presentations Maiden (1200m)

#7 – Whiskey Tumbler @ $2.60

Whiskey Tumbler wasn’t far away when winning on debut at Murray Bridge, and he could go one better on Saturday.

The three-year-old son of Alabama Express is in good hands with Peter Hardacre, and barrier four gives him every chance to score.

Money has come for him after opening at $3.20, which isn’t surprising.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (14:07) Fleurieu Milk Company BM72 (1050m)

#3 – She’s My Ex @ $7.50

Punters get value odds for She’s My Ex, who scored at Seymour fresh up before winning at Pakenham last time out.

The three-year-old filly by Exceedance is a three-time winner from five starts overall, and we priced her at around $5 to win.

Include her in picks as an each-way hope.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (14:42) Sportsbet Dequetteville Stakes (1050m)

#1 – Never Ordinary @ $1.70

Never Ordinary made easy work of a three-horse field last start, scoring by 4.5 lengths as a $1.12 favourite.

Punters get better odds for this race, and although there is more depth to this field, she has every chance of scoring again.

She is a solid multi bet inclusion.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 6. (15:17) Sportsbet Adelaide Racing Carnival BM70 (1100m)

#3 – Angel Torque @ $5.00

Seeking back-to-back wins is Angel Torque, who scored by a nose at Murray Bridge last time out.

The four-year-old mare by Harry Angel owns five wins and five placings from 18 starts, so she has been a good bet throughout her career.

Getting weight off her back is ideal, and she should give punters a good sight.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 7. (15:52) Sportsbet Jockey Watch Handicap (1522m)

#12 – Anahorish @ $4.20

Anahorish was too good for them at Murray Bridge, and another win could come against an even field on Saturday.

The four-year-old mare by Shamus Award is a past winner at Morphettville, and after opening at $7, her odds have been smashed.

She only needs early luck from a wide draw to go close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (16:27) Sportsbet Matrice Stakes (1200m)

#1 – Arkansaw Kid @ $3.00

Arkansaw Kid returns from a trip to New Zealand, and although carrying 62kg isn’t ideal, he has class on his side.

The Hayes-trained gelding managed only seventh at Group 1 level across the Tasman, but he didn’t have much luck in the running.

That followed a second placing to Jigsaw, who won the William Reid Stakes last Saturday.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (17:07) Sportsbet Clare Lindop Stakes (1600m)

#6 – Silvasista @ $4.00

Running second behind Salty Pearl is excellent form, considering Salty Pearl is the second favourite in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes.

The three-year-old filly by Toronado battled on gamely to place in a tough race, and that form bodes well in Adelaide.

Carrying 55kg helps, and she is an excellent each-way bet.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 10. (17:48) AIG Security BM64 (1200m)

#3 – Synchro @ $12.00

Michael Hickmott lines up Synchro, who is a past fresh up winner, and he could hit the ground running this preparation.

The five-year-old son of Niagara owns three wins from eight starts, so we’re surprised by the $12 odds available with bookmakers.

He’s a recent jumpout winner, which adds to his appeal.

Stake: 1 Unit
