Morphettville racing tips

Wiltshire Square has made a good start to her career, and she comes off some good efforts in Melbourne.
The three-year-old filly by Wootton Bassett ran fourth at Caulfield last time out behind Yes Yoshi, and that’s a good form guide.
Punters get good odds due to the short favourite.

Seeking back-to-back wins is Alaa Plenty, who was too good for them at Werribee.
The four-year-old son of Shalaa won both his races at the distance, and there isn’t much covering this field, so he should be right in the mix.
Getting 3kg off his back is ideal, so include him in picks at nice odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Zarkana won earlier this preparation at Gawler, and although her form since hasn’t been great, she gets a chance to bounce back.
The five-year-old mare by Trapeze Artist has had plenty of experience at Morphettville with 12 starts for a win and four placings.
She is good enough to figure in the finish at each-way odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Andrew Gluyas lines up Omaha Dawn, who is a past fresh up winner, and she could hit the ground running this preparation.
The four-year-old mare by Omaha Beach hasn’t run a bad race for the stable since moving there five starts ago, and the trend could continue.
After opening at $15, she has been well-backed to score.
Stake: 1 Unit
Somewhere Soon is gunning for three consecutive wins after scoring at Morphettville last time out, which was a tidy performance.
The four-year-old mare by Impending won by a nose after finding a tough path through the field, which made it a quality win.
It’s an open field, and she’s a good bet at the price.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Ciaron Maher lines up Celerity, who won well at Flemington three back before fighting to the line for two subsequent placings.
She has been scratched twice over the last week, which has frustrated punters, but she should be ready to fire at Morphettville.
54kg on her back should be enough to take out this race.
Stake: 2.5 Units
An in-form Berkeley Square is always tough to beat, and we thought his win at Flemington last start was an excellent form guide.
The six-year-old has class on his side as a 10-time winner, and although yet to be tested over two miles, he looks every part of a Cups horse.
He’ll get a soft run off the inside draw and have plenty saved up for a big late run.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Uptown Monk couldn’t have been more impressive when breaking maidens by 4.3 lengths last start, and he has a bright future.
The Will Clarken-trained gelding put them away with ease as the $1.55 favourite, and although there is more depth here, he must be respected.
He won a trial at Oakbank four days ago, which should top him off nicely for this race.
Stake: 2 Units
Air Assault hasn’t been the easiest runner to follow this season, but at his best, he’s a quality thoroughbred.
The five-year-old is a nine-time winner with almost $1 million in the bank, and seven of his nine wins have come at Morphettville.
Returning from Melbourne could be enough to see his form improve.
Stake: 1.5 Units
