Moruya racing tips

Race 1. (12:15) Broulee Brewhouse C1 (930m)

#1 – Hope and Glory @ $4.00

Hope and Glory showed good pace when winning on debut at Moruya, so having winning form on the track is ideal.

The four-year-old son of Menari didn’t fire in heavy conditions last start at Wagga, but getting 2kg off hsi back helps his chances.

We’re happy to back him at the current odds.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (12:50) Foxdog Distillery BM82 (1600m)

#2 – Stonecoat @ $3.70

Stonecoat showed improvement when running fourth at this track last start, and a repeat of that could take him close.

The five-year-old has enough experience to handle this field, including four wins and five placings, but he runs well on soft tracks.

He should be right around the mark, hence the shortening odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:25) Red Rose Cafe Maiden (1660m)

#9 – I Doubt It @ $4.20

The form of I Doubt It needs to improve to win this race, but there has been plenty of money come for the filly on race day.

She opened at $6 before firming to $4.20, which is a good sign for the daughter of Dubious, who could benefit from recent racing.

We’re giving her another chance to show something on race day.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:05) JJ's at The Marina Batesman Bay Maiden (1310m)

#6 – McTominay @ $4.80

McTominay is nearing a win after consecutive second placings at Moruya and Canberra, and having form at the track is ideal.

The four-year-old son of Rich Enuff shouldn’t take long to break maidens and there isn’t too much to beat in this race.

Take the $4.80 odds before late money comes for him.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 5. (14:40) Mogo Brew Crew Maiden (1020m)

#11 – Spice Baby @ $3.40

Looking to win for punters on debut is Spice Baby, who opened at $4 before being backed into $3.40.

The two-year-old filly has looked good at the trials, including a third placing at Rosehill last time to the trials.

She has speed, so she’s good enough to handle this field.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (15:15) Moruya Golf Club Chinese Restaurant C3 (1020m)

#3 – Scissor Me Timbers @ $3.50

Most of the money has come for Scissor Me Timbers, who won well fresh up at Goulburn in heavy conditions.

The four-year-old son of Scissor Kick owns two wins and four placings overall, so he’s good enough to handle this field.

Take the $3.50 odds before more money comes for him.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 7. (15:50) Moruya Ice Creamery BM58 (1210m)

#2 – Lady Revolution @ $7.00

Lady Revolution owns a fresh up win, and we’re picking her to come out firing this preparation.

The four-year-old mare by Russian Revolution runs some of her best races over the distance, so kicking things off over 1210m is ideal.

She’s good enough to handle this field, so the odds appeal.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (16:25) Picked Octopus BM58 (1435m)

#9 – Crazy Atom @ $7.50

Crazy Atom is fitter now after two runs this preparation, and the five-year-old mare should be tough to beat against this field.

She wasn’t far away last time out at Goulburn in heavy conditions, and running on a firmer track only helps her chances.

Take the generous each-way odds in an even betting field.

Stake: 1 Unit
