Ellerslie racing tips
—
Cody Cole has a good record with his debut runners, and Amourette could make a winning debut on Saturday.
The two-year-old filly by Tarzino has been all around the mark at the trials, including a recent placing, and it’s not a strong 2YO field.
Barrier four is ideal, so snap up the each-way odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Big bets have come for Utopic Warrior, who opened at $4.40 before being smashed into $2.90 throughout the week.
The three-year-old gelding by Deep Field looked good at the trials, and George Rooke is riding well this season, especially when settling on the speed.
It could pay to follow the money with this runner.
Stake: 1 Unit
High Country has found a new lease on life after back-to-back wins at Ellerslie and Tauranga, which is good form for this race.
The five-year-old son of Mongolian Khan gets in with only 54kg on his back, and some of his best form comes at Ellerslie.
We’re happy to keep backing him against an even field.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Alacritous won well at Matamata three starts back, and if that form returns, she can post another win.
The three-year-old filly by Dundeel didn’t fire at Ellerslie last time out, but she should improve significantly on that run.
55kg on her back could be enough to turn the tables.

Riverton racing tips

Miss Thunderdonk wasn’t far away in a recent trial, and the Anna Furlong stable knows how to get them up and running.
The two-year-old filly by Satono Aladdin gets in with 54kg, which could be enough to beat what is an even betting field.
Race day betting moves will be telling, but money should come for her.
Stake: 1 Unit
Punter get double-figure odds for Cheekylittlefella, who has had two starts at Riverton, so having experience at the track is ideal.
The three-year-old son of Gallant Guru ran third at Ascot Park two back, and it looked like he needed the spell under his belt last time out.
The double-figure odds are worth taking in an even race.
Stake: 1 Unit
Mamaea owns four placings from six starts at the track, and although she is only a two-time winner overall, she gets favours in this race.
The four-year-old mare by Ribchester gets the inside draw and 3kg off her back, which should be enough to take her close.
The $7 odds are worth including in picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Bodleian won well at Ascot fresh up before adding placings at Ascot and Riccarton, and it’s strong form for this level of racing.
The four-year-old son of Turn Me Loose has yet to miss a win or placing in soft conditions, so the track should play perfectly.
He is another with the inside draw and a light weight.
Stake: 1.5 Units
