We have expert betting tips for the New Zealand racing cards this Saturday at Hawera and Te Rapa.
There is always great value at the NZ horse racing meetings, and we have our best bets across the two cards.
Hawera racing tips
—
Fierce Flight owns two second placings from two starts over the jumps, and coming to the Central Districts should help his chances.
The seven-year-old didn’t fire on the flat last time out, but he was always going to need that run, and Te Akau is having good success over the jumps.
We expect money to come for him at the current odds.

Our Daymo picked up close to the line last start, and with a touch more luck, he might have scored the win.
He’s making his steeplechase debut after winning two times over the hurdles, and he’s easily good enough to handle the bigger fences.
His odds are shortening, so snap up the $3.50

Upsets often happen in small fields, and with only four runners in this field, La Parisienne could take advantage.
The five-year-old mare by El Roca owns three second placings fresh up, and she looked good when winning two starts back.
She’s good enough to plough through the heavy conditions.
Stake: 1 Unit
Sweet Envy has yet to win from 23 attempts, but her form last preparation consisted of many placings.
The five-year-old mare owns five placings, including two from her last three starts, and she could turn that form into winning form.
Given the double-figure odds, we’re happy to include her in picks.

Te Rapa racing tips
—
Danica Guy knows a thing or two about training youngsters to win, and Dashing could make a winning start.
The three-year-old son of Justify won a trial at Cambridge to prepare for his debut, and punters get value odds for Saturday’s race.
It’s a hot field, but he’s bred to handle the conditions.
Stake: 1 Unit
Reecetherageese turned his form around with a second placing at Te Rapa last start, where he paid $69.50 to win.
That run might have been a flash-in-the-pan performance, but it was a good form race, so there’s no reason why he can’t go one better.
The odds are worth considering in an open race.
Stake: 1 Unit
Looking to continue his run of good form is Drop of Something, who won at Te Rapa two back before placing last time out.
The six-year-old son of Telperion has yet to finish worse than third in three attempts at the track and getting 4kg off his back is a bonus.
We expect money to come for him close to start time.
Stake: 2 Units
Seeking back-to-back wins is Talea, who was too good for them at Hawera. Connections decided to avoid Hawera this week and come to Te Rapa, which is a good sign.
The Shane Crawford-trained mare gets Opie Bosson in the saddle, which helps, and he only needs a touch of luck from out wide to win.
Punters get value odds for the loose favourite.
