Riccarton racing tips

Looking for consecutive wins is Hidalgo, who was too good for them at Riccarton when scoring by 8.5 lengths.
The eight-year-old son of Pure Champion meets another small field on Saturday, and he has every chance of rising the hurdling ranks.
Take the $2.20 odds before money comes for him late on race day.

We backed Berry the Cash last week when he ran second behind Dictation, but Dictation has been scratched for the feature.
The nine-year-old has been threatening to win a race all year, and with three wins from five starts at Riccarton, including two over 4200m, he’s the one to beat.
Even the big weight shouldn’t stop him in the Grand National.
Stake: 5 Units
Eye Spy looked good winning at Wingatui three starts back, and she hasn’t been too far away from the prize in two runs since.
The six-year-old mare is a four-time winner over the distance, and although she hasn’t been backed to win this race, she is genuine chance.
55.5kg on her back helps, so back her for the win and place.
Stake: 1 Unit
Koyama loves running in wet conditions after scoring his fifth heavy track win last time out at Oamaru.
The five-year-old son of Almanzor has yet to have success at Riccarton, but this isn’t an overly tough field, so he could take advantage.
Getting 2kg off his back is ideal, so include him in picks.

Te Rapa racing tips
—
Malleable ran solid enough when fourth at Avondale in heavy conditions, so the track won’t be an issue for him.
The four-year-old son of Savabeel could rate better than many of these runners because of his experience, and punters get better odds than expected.
Take the $12 odds as a value price in the opener.
Stake: 1 Unit
Social Climber has made a positive start to her career after posting a debut win before adding a placing at Te Rapa last start.
The four-year-old mare by Contributer relishes heavy tracks, so that’s not a worry, and she is good enough to beat this field.
Getting the inside draw is ideal, so take the each-way odds.
Stake: 2 Units
Te Atatu Dream got back to solid form when running second at Te Rapa, and that’s a good form guide for this race.
The six-year-old has only one win from 16 starts, but with last season’s best jockey Craig Grylls in the saddle, she will get her chance.
Barrier two allows her to find a good spot in running, so the odds are generous.
Stake: 1 Unit
All around the mark throughout his career is Mobilized, who ran fourth at Pukekohe and Avondale before placing at Te Rapa.
The Clothworthy-trained son of Zed is bred to enjoy longer distances, and although 2100m is a drop from 2200m, it’s still a good distance for him.
The odds are likely to shorten, so take the value.
