Riccarton racing tips

The three-year-old filly comes off a second placing at Omoto, and we’re not surprised by the money coming for her.
She is in good hands with David Walsh and getting in with 55kg on her back should be enough to take her close.
Take the odds before more money comes for her.
Stake: 1 Unit
One of the best backed runners on the card is Professional Lad, who comes off a Group 1 sixth behind Affirmative Action in the Guineas.
That’s top-level form for maiden racing, and the three-year-old gelding should put them away by multiple lengths.
Look for him to win by 4-5 lengths, so include him in multis.
Stake: 5 Units
We expect a better effort following a debut sixth at Riccarton, and having experience on the track is ideal.
The two-year-old filly by Staphanos wasn’t far behind some nice types, with the second placegetter running in the Karaka Million at Ellerslie.
Punters get each-way odds to snap up.
Stake: 1 Unit
There could be an upset on the cards with Mi Bella, who didn’t fire last start, but she is much better than that.
The five-year-old mare by Per Incanto owns two wins and five placings, and she only needs a touch of luck from a wide barrier.
She can be a risky bet, but the odds make her worth including.

Ellerslie racing tips

Province is the best horse in the race after winning the Telegraph at Group 1 level last time out, so she must be put on top here.
The six-year-old owns seven wins from 19 starts, and she has three wins from four starts at Ellerslie, which is an excellent record.
The big bets have come her way, so take the current price.
Stake: 2 Units
We’re backing Drops of God to remain unbeaten after holding off a talented field at Ellerslie last time out.
The three-year-old filly by Hello Youmzain is rising significantly in class and facing rivals who have contested Group 1 races, but she has loads of upside.
If she can get cover from out wide, she should go close.
Stake: 1 Unit
We were tempted to go with the Australian, but She’s a Dealer has form across the Tasman, and having experience at Ellerslie is a bonus.
She finished fourth behind Queen Zou last start, and although she loomed to win before coming to the end of her run, she is fitter now.
We recommend taking the odds before money comes for her.
Stake: 1.5 Units
