Riccarton racing tips

Henry Thomas looked good when posting back-to-back wins earlier this preparation, and that form could return on Saturday.
The five-year-old son of Ocean Park scored one of those wins at Riccarton, so having form at the track puts him above many of these.
Getting the inside draw is another positive, so he should run a good race.

Anna Furlong lines up Luna Capella, who won her first two starts before running two good races in defeat.
The three-year-old filly by Tivaci comes off a fourth in listed company, and slight improvement from that run should be enough to take her close.
Punters get each-way odds, which are worth snapping up.

It was good seeing Texas Dolly turn her form around when second at Ashburton last time out, and she could improve enough to win.
The five-year-old mare by Ace High will likely get back in the run, and if they go quickly enough up front, she could finish over the top of them.
Carrying 54.5kg makes that more of a chance of happening.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Big bets have come for Never Too Much, who ran third on debut as an odds-on favourite, and improvement is expected.
The two-year-old son of Rubick opened at $4.60 before shortening to $3.10, which is a good betting move for a juvenile affair.
2kg comes off his back, which could be enough to take him close.

Trentham racing tips
—
Looking to score an overdue win is Shacktime, who has placed in all three runs this preparation.
The four-year-old mare by Tivaci ran third at Trentham two starts back before placing at Otaki, and those form lines are better than most in this field.
The $3.50 odds are worth taking in the opening race.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Gunning for back-to-back wins is Cosmic Pursuit, who dug deep to score at Matamata.
The four-year-old son of Zoustar heads south in the search for more success and rising from 2000m to 2100m should only help his chances.
The wide barrier isn’t a worry, and punters get each-way odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
This looks like an ideal race for Bridal Train, and we’re surprised that she’s not the favourite to win.
The Allan Sharrock-trained mare owns five wins and six placings from 19 starts, including a win at Trentham and multiple wins on soft tracks.
Punters should expect the $3.50 odds to firm on race day.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Punters get value odds for Sir Can You Dance, who placed in all three starts so far, and a win isn’t far away.
The Cody Cole stable is having a good run, and the four-year-old son of Proisir was beaten by a short margin at Trentham last start, and having experience here helps.
Look for him to settle handy and kick strongly.
