We have expert betting tips for the New Zealand racing cards this Saturday at Otaki and Ashburton.
There is always great value at the NZ horse racing meetings, and we have our best bets across the two cards.
Otaki racing tips

Belzoni represents good each-way value at $4.20, and those odds could firm on race day.
The Lisa Latta-trained three-year-old owns a win and two placings, and those placings came in both attempts this preparation.
He’s good enough to beat the favourite, so take the odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Our Lady Brooke is enjoying a consistent campaign, including a win followed by five consecutive placings.
The six-year-old daughter of Derryn has yet to finish worse than second in three starts at Otaki, and we expect that to continue Saturday.
Punters get odds worth including in horse racing picks.
Stake: 2 Units
Lostcause’s form isn’t the best, but the seven-year-old mare has faced some tough fields recently, including running fifth at Ellerslie behind Trav in the Auckland Cup.
She will appreciate the rise in distance from 1400m to 2100m, and although she isn’t the most consistent type going around, she gets the inside draw.
That helps, and punters get odds worth snapping up.
Stake: 1 Unit
Looking to turn around his form is Fancypants, who is a past winner at Otaki, and that’s why we’re backing him to win.
The five-year-old son of Echoes of Heaven is also a two-time winner over the distance, with one of those wins coming on a heavy surface.
Barrier three is ideal, so our horse racing picks have Fancypants in the mix.

Ashburton racing tips
—
Professional Lad is getting close to posting a win after two second placings from three starts, including one at Riccarton last time out.
The three-year-old son of Proisir was only a half-length from Miss Ziggy, and that’s the best form guide for this race.
The each-way odds are generous from bookmakers.
Stake: 2 Units
Harness trainer Mark Purdon lines up Buster Shaw, who showed good speed when breaking maidens last preparation.
The five-year-old son of War Decree likes the sting out of the surface, and it’s good to see early money come for him.
There isn’t much covering this field, so take the each-way price.
Stake: 1 Unit
Airpark Hustler can be a frustrating runner to back, but the Pitman-trained gelding should get every chance to win this race.
The four-year-old comes off a disappointing run at Riccarton, but Ashburton should suit him a little better than the big open track.
Barrier 15 isn’t ideal, but he’ll get back and flash home late.
Stake: 1 Unit
We’re surprised by the double-figure odds for Tomyturbo, who isn’t far off producing his best run, and it could come on Saturday.
The Pitman-trained runner goes best on soft ground, and he has four starts at Ashburton, so he knows the track well.
Rising in distance is what he wants, so stick with him.
Stake: 1 Unit
