We have expert betting tips for the New Zealand racing cards this Saturday at Ellerslie and Trentham.
There is always great value at the NZ horse racing meetings, and we have our best bets across the two cards.
Ellerslie racing tips
—
Love Symbol runs at generous odds for punters after showing good form last preparation, including consecutive placings.
The Lance Noble-trained mare owns four placings from 10 starts, and it’s only a matter of time before she exits maidens.
Barrier three with Warren Kennedy riding helps her cause.
Stake: 1 Unit
All eyes are on Advantaggia, despite not as much money coming from the royally bred filly as expected.
The three-year-old filly by Wootton Bassett x. Avantage is bred to be a top-tier runner, and her trial form has been solid.
We expected her to be paying $2 or shorter, so that’s a concern, but we’re happy to have something on her based on her breeding alone.
Stake: 1.5 Units
A solid multi bet inclusion is Churmatt, who won on debut before finishing a close second behind a nice winter type last time out.
Racing on heavy tracks might not have done him any favours, but with conditions at Ellerslie in the soft range, it should be right up his alley.
Take the $1.90 to boost payouts, and it’s a fair price from bookmakers.
Stake: 2 Units
Looking to win his third race from his last four starts is Bosch, who loves a bit of moisture in the surface.
The seven-year-old son of Pentire is a former winner at Ellerslie, and getting the inside draw gives him every chance in the run.
It’s an open field, so we’re happy with the each-way odds.

Trentham racing tips
—
Lisa Latta has a good record at Trentham, and Thrilling could make a winning fresh up effort on Saturday.
The four-year-old mare by Shocking owns two placings from nine starts overall, and she’s never too far away from the prize.
Dropping to 54.5kg is ideal, so take the each-way odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Wingman showed good ability during his first preparation, including two wins and three placings.
The four-year-old son of Swiss Ace scored at Trentham before taking on tough opposition, but he runs his best races here, which is a positive.
He’s good enough to beat the favourite, so the odds are appealing.
Stake: 1 Unit
My Alibi isn’t always the most consistent type going around, but she’s good enough to push this field close at a light weight.
The five-year-old mare won fresh up at Otaki before finishing fourth at Wanganui, and something close to that form is good enough.
Dropping to 52kg makes her a winning hope at nice odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Value is with Savachi Boy, who runs at double-figure odds, and he showed glimpses of form during his first preparation.
The three-year-old son of Tivaci ran second at Wanganui two back, and although he looked tired last time out, he should be fit and ready to fire fresh up.
He’s bred to handle the conditions, so include him as a value bet.
Stake: 1 Unit
