Ellerslie racing tips
—
Khan Hunter owns three placings from his last four starts, and that form is good enough to win this race.
The eight-year-old son of Mongolian Khan has yet to win at Ellerslie for nine starts, but getting 2kg off his back is ideal, and that could be enough.
We’re happy with the $4.20 available with bookmakers.

Sweet but Psycho went close last time out at Te Rapa, and a repeat of that effort should be good enough to win this race.
The O’Sullivan/Scott-trained mare owns two wins from 12 starts, and she only needs a touch of cover from a wide draw.
Punters get each-way odds, so she’s worth including in horse racing picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Si Exquis is better for two runs back from a spell, and she is much better than a one-win type.
The five-year-old mare by Vadamos owns three placings from four starts on a soft track, so the conditions are ideal.
$8.50 is an excellent price in an even betting field.

Cool ‘N’ Fast looked like a real up-and-comer when scoring on debut at Pukekohe before failing to fire last time out.
That run came in January last year, so he has been off the scene for some time, but his recent trial form is good, and he has excellent natural ability.
Having Opie Bosson riding helps, so take the attractive odds.

Otaki racing tips

Crafty Colin has been all around the mark throughout his career, including three consecutive placings.
The six-year-old son of Puccini owns eight placings on heavy tracks, and that’s why we’re putting him in our picks at the odds.
He’s good enough to break maidens at the 30th time of trying.
Stake: 1 Unit
Ena Sharples looks to cap off consecutive second placings with a win, and it’s only a matter of time before she wins.
The four-year-old daughter of Contributer placed at New Plymouth and Otaki, and having form on the track adds to her appeal.
Getting 4kg off her back is enough to see her win by lengths.
Stake: 3 Units
Looking to cap off four placings from five starts with a win is Sierra Leone, who won’t take long to win a race.
The three-year-old filly has form up north, including placings at Pukekohe and Ellerslie, so that form checks out well at Otaki.
Dropping to 53.5kg is enough to see her score a convincing win.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Belzoni scored a good win fresh up last preparation at Waverley before finishing fourth at Trentham behind Country Salon.
The three-year-old son of Belardo gets weight relief from Amber Riddell, and that could be enough to see him get back to form.
It’s not an easy race, but he has plenty of upside.
