Nowra racing tips

Race 1. (14:10) Hanlon Windows Maiden (1400m)

#4 – Wave Dancer @ $5.50

Wave Dancer improved nicely to finish third at Goulburn last start, and being from the Ciaron Maher stable should help.

The five-year-old mare by Vancouver has been patiently handled throughout her career, and the patience could pay off soon.

Include her in picks at each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (14:45) Country Motor Company C1 (1000m)

#1 – Infant Warrior @ $2.70

Seeking back-to-back wins is Infant Warrior, who capped off consistent form with a win at Hawkesbury.

The three-year-old filly by Anders owns a win and three placings from five starts overall, so there is a lot to like about her form.

Money has come for her, which isn’t surprising.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 3. (15:20) Stroud Homes Nowra Maiden (1200m)

#3 – Stern Reminder @ $2.00

Stern Reminder is worth including in multi bets at short odds following back-to-back placings to start his career.

The four-year-old son of Winning Rupert placed at Coonamble before returning to finish second at Wagga fresh up.

It’s good enough form to put this field away at even-money odds.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 4. (15:55) Sussex Inlet RSL Maiden (1000m)

#1 – Defiance @ $2.45

We expect more money to come for Defiance, who took on tough opposition during his first preparation, and his recent trial form is excellent.

The three-year-old son of Zoustar for Bjorn Baker comes off trial wins at Warwick Farm and Randwick, so he looks ready to deliver the goods.

He only needs to show barrier speed from out wide to lead and put them away.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 5. (16:30) Superior Turf Services BM58 (1100m)

#3 – La Mer Bleue @ $4.00

Punters get each-way odds for La Mer Bleue, who has turned his form around nicely this preparation.

The four-year-old son of Blue Point won at Nowra in heavy conditions before placing at Goulburn, so the form checks out.

Getting 1.5kg off his back is enough to take him close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (17:10) Kel Campbell Fuel Haulage BM58 (1600m)

#1 – Straight Fire @ $2.90

Straight Fire carries a big weight, but the five-year-old mare is good enough to handle this level of opposition.

The daughter of Vancouver owns three wins and seven placings overall, including a placing at her only attempt at Nowra.

She doesn’t mind moisture in the surface, so punters should expect a nice effort.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (17:50) South Coast Retreat BM66 (1400m)

#2 – Tiger Town @ $7.50

Money has come for Tiger Town after opening at $13, and we’re happy to include him in our picks to score an overdue win.

The five-year-old son of Jungle Cat has yet to race at Nowra, but he’s a four-time winner on a soft track, so he will love conditions.

He should loom to win at some stage, so snap up the value.

Stake: 1 Unit
