Pakenham Synthetic racing tips

Race 1. (12:30) Equinetrain Centre Maiden (1400m)

#5 – The Boss Man @ $3.50

The Boss Man did well enough to run third on debut at Ballarat, and having form on synthetic tracks is a bonus.

The three-year-old son of Puissance de Lune should appreciate the rise in distance, and it’s only a matter of time before he wins a race.

Take the odds before late money comes for him.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (13:00) Amour Consulting Maiden (1600m)

#7 – Gravitational @ $6.00

Gravitational looks to improve with two runs under her belt this prep, including a tidy fourth at Ballarat last time out.

The three-year-old filly by So You Think is bred to be better than average and getting out to the mile only helps her chances.

Punters get odds worth including in picks.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 3. (13:30) Evergreen Turf Maiden (1000m)

#10 – Idleonby @ $7.50

Looking to improve on her debut third placing is Idleonby, who wasn’t all that far behind the leaders.

The two-year-old daughter of Spirit of Boom is bred to show early speed and getting 1.5kg off her back only helps her cause.

We’re happy to keep backing her until she wins.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:00) Betavet Maiden (1200m)

#3 – Deccan Odyssey @ $3.10

Deccan Odyssey hasn’t been far away from the prize throughout his career, and it’s only a matter of time before he wins.

The Team Hayes-trained three-year-old owns two placings from five starts and he has taken on stronger opposition than this.

Getting $3.10 is a good price from bookies, so put him on top.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 5. (14:30) Sportsbet Race Previews BM58 (1200m)

#11 – Omaha Dawn @ $7.50

We expect better from Omaha Dawn now after struggling at her last three starts, but she should be better with those runs under belt.

The three-year-old filly by Omaha Beach showed enough speed when winning at Ballarat last campaign, and that’s an excellent form guide.

She has drawn wide, but that’s the only negative.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (15:00) Gippsland Premium Quarries BM58 (1200m)

#10 – Brutalina @ $2.35

It has been a good start to the career of Brutalina, who won at Kilmore two back before placing at Seymour last time out.

The three-year-old filly owns a win and three placings from five starts overall, so it has been a positive start to her career.

Barrier three is ideal, and that adds to her appeal.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (15:30) Jockey Watch BM64 (1000m)

#4 – Regal Secret @ $4.20

Regal Secret is better than her form suggests, but she’s good enough to bounce back from a moderate fresh up effort.

The three-year-old daughter of Nicconi owns two wins and two placings from nine starts, and there isn’t much to beat in this field.

She could take advantage as an each-way type.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 8. (16:00) Thanks for the Memories Terry Bailey BM70 (1400m)

#4 – Seindeel @ $5.00

Breeding is with Seindeel, who comes off a tidy win at Sale, and he could rise through the grades.

The son of Dundeel showed good toughness to score by a nose, and although it wasn’t a special win, it’s good to have the dig deep asset.

Barrier two is ideal, so he’s a top pick in this race.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 9. (16:30) Unox Casa BM70 (1600m)

#4 – Musgrave @ $4.60

Musgrave hasn’t been the easiest runner to follow throughout his career, but he’s good enough to win consecutive races earlier this prep.

The five-year-old gelding by Preferment is a two-time winner over the distance, and there isn’t much to beat in this field.

We expect him to take advantage and run well.

Stake: 1 Unit
