Port Macquarie racing tips

Race 1. (12:35) PGH Country Maiden (1100m)

#1 – Kings Cup @ $2.50

Kings Cup is on debut for Paul Snowden following a solid trial effort at Gosford, and it’s good to see money come for him.

The three-year-old colt by Pariah opened at $2.60 before attracting solid betting attention, and money could continue to come for him.

He only needs a good ride from Luke Rolls from a wide draw.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (13:45) Weatherlex C3 (1500m)

#2 – Show ‘Em Howl @ $2.30

Show ‘Em Howl is getting close to posting a win this preparation after finishing second at Taree last time out.

That followed a run at Rosehill when finishing fifth behind Diddle Dumpling, which is an excellent form guide for this level of racing.

He won his only start at Port Macquarie, so getting back to this track is ideal.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 4. (14:20) CDA Eastland Trade Supplies Maiden (1500m)

#8 – Kermalicious @ $6.00

Kris Lees lines up Kermalicious, who is threatening to win a race after posting two placings this preparation.

The four-year-old mare by Kermadec gets every chance from an inside barrier, and the Lees stable often has good success at these meetings.

Take the $6 odds as money is coming for her.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 5. (14:55) Coastal Commercial Linings Maiden (1200m)

#16 – Real Magic @ $12.00

Real Magic was well-held in two runs last preparation, but we’re happy to give her another chance at the odds.

She’s another runner from the Lees stable, and with a spell under her belt, she could come back much stronger.

Her recent trial form is solid enough to recommend against this company.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (15:30) Fastplast Building Supplies BM58 (1200m)

#3 – Got the Smarts @ $6.00

Got the Smarts owns a win and four placings from nine starts, including a solid placing at Grafton last time out.

The six-year-old mare by Smart Missile doesn’t mind running second-up, and carrying 60kg shouldn’t worry her too much.

Look for her to get back and finish off stylishly.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:10) Kennards Hire BM58 (1200m)

#10 – Oakfield Pluto @ $2.90

Looking to remain unbeaten is Oakfield Pluto, who showed good toughness when scoring at Taree.

The four-year-old son of Exceedance won by 1.5 lengths as a $2 chance, so getting $2.90 is a fair price from bookmakers.

Barrier three with Aaron Bullock in the saddle is enough to see him win again.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 8. (16:50) Petries Mitre 10 BM66 (1000m)

#7 – Toomuchinformation @ $3.80

Toomuchinformation looks to cap off consecutive second placings with an overdue win, and he should be right in the mix again.

The seven-year-old son of Trust in a Gust will need luck from a wide draw, but he shouldn’t mind getting out wide and hitting the line well.

Given the odds, we’re happy to include him in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit
