Randwick-Kensington racing tips

Race 1. (12:50) Myplates Maiden (1150m)

#3 – Cantiamo @ $2.35

Money has come for Cantiamo, who ran fifth on debut at Randwick before spelling.

The three-year-old filly ran fifth behind Within the Law, who has since gone to another level, so the form checks out well for midweek racing.

She comes off a trial win at Gosford, so she looks ready to go.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 2. (13:25) Inglis Extra Bonus Maiden (1150m)

#3 – Banknote Hustler @ $5.50

A runner that should enjoy this level of racing is Banknote Hustler, who was thrown in the deep end last preparation.

The three-year-old gelding ran behind Group 1 performers Tentyris, Wodeton, and Bellazine, and although well-beaten, this is much easier.

He comes off a trial win, so that should give punters confidence.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (14:00) Exceedance at Vinery Stud BM64 (1800m)

#2 – Autumn Dream @ $5.50

Autumn Dream is a two-time winner from seven starts, including a win at Kembla Grange two starts back by three lengths.

She wasn’t all that far away at Warwick Farm last start, and that should give punters confidence to stick with her.

Getting 2kg off her back is enough to take her close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:35) PKF Newcastle BM72 (1300m)

#5 – Johnny the Kid @ $4.60

Johnny the Kid is fresh up after a trial at Warwick Farm, and he’s good enough to make a winning return.

The four-year-old son of Trapeze Artist is in good hands with Waterhouse/Bott, and he runs his best races at Randwick-Kensington with a win and a placing.

Barrier three is ideal, so include him in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (15:10) PKF Sydney BM72 (1000m)

#7 – Moonlight Gambler @ $11.00

Punters get double-figure odds for Moonlight Gambler, who ended last preparation with consecutive wins at Newcastle and Kembla Grange.

The five-year-old son of Rubick hasn’t looked overly good at the trials since, but he could be saving his best for race day.

Getting the inside draw is enough to take him close over 1000m.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (15:45) PKF Global BM72 (1550m)

#9 – Pink Shalala @ $7.00

Looking to cap off consistent form with a win is Pink Shalala, who has threatened with five placings from his last six starts.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding is much better than a one-time winner, and it’s only a matter of time before she wins again.

Given the odds, we’re happy to include her in picks on Wednesday.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 7. (16:20) Precise Air Premier’s Cup Prelude (1800m)

#8 – St Lawrence @ $14.00

Connections of St Lawrence would have been hoping for the race to go ahead on Saturday, but he should still enjoy these conditions.

The former Kiwi won his only start in heavy conditions, but he also has good form on soft tracks if that’s what we get on race day.

He’s good enough to win this race, so give him another chance.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (16:55) Tab BM72 (1300m)

#1 – Harry’s Bar @ $4.20

It was good to see Harry’s Bar get back to winning form at Rosehill, and conditions aren’t much different for this race.

The Paul Murray-trained mare owns two wins and five placings overall, and she has been close to winning at Randwick-Kensington with two second placings.

Getting 2kg off her back is enough to take her close.

Stake: 1.5 Units
