Randwick-Kensington racing tips
—
She’s Extra is unbeaten after two wins, including last time out at Warwick Farm when scoring by 3.3 lengths.
That was a tidy win from the two-year-old filly by Exceedance, who gets a much-needed 3kg off her back, and that’s a big help.
Her opening $4.40 quote was snapped up, so respect betting moves.
Stake: 1.5 Units
A good multi bet addition at short odds is Metallic Cat, who ran second behind Castlejohn on debut at Warwick Farm.
The four-year-old mare by Pierata has been confidently backed into $1.50 after opening at $2.05, so it has been a serious betting push.
The current odds are a touch short for our liking but include her in multis.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Drumfire showed good pace to win on debut at Muswellbrook, and he could bring that form into the city.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained colt by Farnan scored by 1.3 lengths against a tidy provincial field, so he looks to have enough pace to win.
He gets the inside draw, which is enough to take him close.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Bjorn Baker lines up Hezdarnhottoo, who ran third at Rosehill fresh up before running fifth at Flemington.
That level of racing is good form midweeks at Randwick-Kensington, and he’s yet to finish worse than third at this track.
James McDonald rides, and punters get odds worth taking.
Stake: 2 Units
Just Maz is unbeaten after scoring impressive wins at Canterbury and Warwick Farm, and the roll could continue.
The three-year-old filly by Justify dug deep to win at $2.10 odds last time out, and punters get much better odds this time around.
Barrier four is ideal, so snap up the each-way price.
Stake: 1 Unit
We’re not surprised to see money come for Surf’s Up, who showed good form last preparation when winning at Warwick Farm and placing at Caulfield behind Point Barrow.
That form stacks up beautifully for midweek racing BM72, with Point Barrow winning last Saturday at Caulfield.
It’s another good ride for McDonald, who could have a big meeting.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Consistency is with Kenmare Bay, who looks to cap off consecutive placings with a win on Wednesday.
The four-year-old son of New Bay has gone close to winning at Canterbury with two placings from two starts, and it’s only a matter of time before he wins there.
It’s an open field, so take the $5.50 odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Spirit of Camelot is nearing a win this preparation after improving to run second at Warwick Farm last time out.
The five-year-old mare by Camelot is bred to be better than most at this level and rising in distance to 1550m is a step in the right direction.
She could cap off a good meeting for McDonald, so take the each-way odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
