Rosehill racing tips

Race 1. (11:35) Midway BM72 (1500m)

#10 – Monkhana @ $5.00

Monkhana went close to breaking through when running second fresh up, and this race is there for the taking.

The five-year-old mare by Mongolian Khan is a three-time winner overall, including some good efforts in heavy conditions.

Dropping to 53kg is enough to see her win at each-way odds.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (12:10) Highway Handicap C3 (1300m)

#10 – Christa @ $9.00

Christa comes off a win at Taree, and although there is more depth to this field, she’s good enough to go back-to-back.

The Todd Howlett-trained mare has made a good start to her career with three wins from five starts, so she has upside.

The odds are good enough to include in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (12:45) Asahi Super Dry BM72 (1300m)

#4 – Ninja @ $1.90

Looking for back-to-back wins is Ninja, who needed the run on debut before scoring a good win at Kembla Grange.

The well-bred son of Farnan is bred for speed, and his maiden win came by over 11 lengths, so that was an emphatic performance.

Take the $1.90 odds before late money comes for him.

Stake: 3.5 Units

Race 4. (13:20) The Agency Real Estate BM78 (1400m)

#8 – Tuileries @ $3.40

Tuileries appeared to have needed the fresh up run, but she should be tough to beat against this company.

She’s taking on an unbeaten runner, but experience counts for plenty, and she has experience in harder races than this.

She will settle back and look to finish off best.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 5. (13:55) Drinkwise Rosebud (1100m)

#5 – Pallaton @ $2.50

Money has come for Pallaton, who won on debut at Randwick by 2.8 lengths, and he’s better than his recent form suggests.

The three-year-old colt by Wootton Bassett has been primed with two trial wins, so he looks forward enough to take this out.

It’s a hot field, but getting in with 54kg helps his chances.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 6. (14:30) Rosehill Bowling Club BM78 (1900m)

#4 – Hasty Honey @ $11.00

Hasty Honey couldn’t quite make it three wins on the bounce last preparation, but she’s running well enough to win this race.

The five-year-old mare was only a short margin behind the winner last start, so she doesn’t need to improve much to win.

Getting 3kg off her back is enough to take her close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (15:05) Captivant Kia Ora Handicap (1400m)

#7 – War Eternal @ $3.90

Having race fitness could be enough for War Eternal to win this race, and he went close when second last time out.

The seven-year-old son of Pierro is a four-time winner overall, but he’s better than his record suggests. He shouldn’t take long to win another race.

Getting in with 54kg could be enough to see him score on Saturday.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 8. (15:45) Precise Air BM78 (1400m)

#5 – Puntin @ $5.00

Puntin is likely to push forward and run them into the ground, so the $5 odds from bookmakers is good value.

The Bjorn Baker-trained gelding owns four wins and three placings from eight starts, and he didn’t get in the right part of the track last start.

We expect a bounce back effort at juicy odds.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 9. (16:20) Tab BM78 (1100m)

#14 – Theblade @ $5.00

Theblade has all the talent to win races like this, and although his career has been marred by problems, he could come back with a win.

The Hawkes-trained four-year-old comes off a trial win at Rosehill, so he looks ready to fire, and the each-way odds are worth taking.

We’re giving him one more chance to show us something.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 10. (16:55) Petaluma BM94 (1200m)

#12 – Perfumist @ $4.80

There was a lot of hype around Perfumist last preparation, and she likes to hit the ground running.

The four-year-old mare owns five wins and three placings from 11 starts, and she was good enough to come to New Zealand for the NZB Kiwi.

55kg on her back is ideal, and she could come back with a bang.

Stake: 2 Units
