Rosehill racing tips

Race 1. (11:25) Captivant Kia Ora BM72 (1500m)

#2 – Barbray @ $6.00

Barbray showed good form earlier this preparation with consecutive wins, and that form is good enough for this race.

The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old hasn’t been too far away since in runs at Randwick and Sunshine Coast, so he’s worth including in picks.

Take the $6 odds before money comes for him.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (12:00) Midway BM72 (1400m)

#1 – Denman Star @ $3.10

Money has come for Denman Star, who won well fresh up at Canterbury before placing at Rosehill last time out.

A repeat of those efforts is good enough to win this race, and the four-time winner shouldn’t take long to get back to winning form.

James McDonald rides, as he seeks an early win in the new season.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 3. (12:35) Highway Handicap C3 (1200m)

#5 – Without Parallel @ $3.10

Looking to remain unbeaten is Without Parallel, who won at Eagle Farm last time out with a good performance.

The Matthew Dunn-trained mare is considered good enough to come to Sydney, and that’s a good sign for punters.

Getting 2kg off her back helps, so take the odds before they firm.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (13:10) Congratulations James McDonald BM78 (1400m)

#7 – Tuileries @ $1.65

Punters got burned last start with Tuileries, but we’re happy to back her based on that effort.

It looked like she needed the run, but with McDonald riding and that run under her belt, she should be tough to beat at short odds.

Include the short odds in your horse racing multis.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 5. (13:45) Congratulations Braith Nock BM72 (1200m)

#2 – Useapin @ $6.00

Useapin was too gutsy for them last time out when scoring at Rosehill, and she is good enough to go back-to-back.

The Chris Waller-trained mare handles all conditions, and it’s another premium ride for McDonald, who could have a big meeting.

If she gets luck from out wide, she should go close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (14:20) National Jockeys Trust Handicap (1500m)

#8 – It’s a Knockout @ $2.50

Getting in with only 52kg makes It’s a Knockout very tough to beat, so include her in your horse racing picks.

The five-year-old mare by Dundeel is a past winner at Rosehill, and her win at Randwick two starts back is an excellent form guide.

At the weights, she must be included in all bets.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 7. (14:55) Jockeys Appreciation BM78 (2000m)

#12 – Callistemon @ $27.00

It’s not easy to back Callistemon, especially against this level of opposition, but we can’t turn down the odds.

The Kerry Parker-trained runner needs to settle much closer than she did last week, and if that happens, her chances of winning increase.

The odds are worth including considering her ability on her day.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (15:35) Jockeys Celebration Day BM78 (1400m)

#1 – Fully Lit @ $7.00

Fully Lit has class on his side, and although his most recent form hasn’t been his best, we’re happy to take the risk.

The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding by Hellbent is a past winner at Rosehill, and he wasn’t far behind some nice types last start.

Take the odds, which are shortening.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (16:10) NSW Jockey Association BM94 (1300m)

#8 – King of Roseau @ $4.00

King of Roseau is gunning for three consecutive wins after scoring at Rosehill, which is a good form guide for this race.

He got the better of Kerguelen last time out, which is an excellent form guide, and barrier four is right up his alley.

The each-way odds available are worth including.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 10. (16:45) Congratulations Chris Waller BM78 (1100m)

#3 – Spywire @ $5.00

Skywire can be tough to follow, but he’s knocking on the door after back-to-back placings at Rosehill.

The four-year-old son of Trapeze Artist showed good form as a juvenile, including beating home Storm Boy, so that form measures up well.

Getting 2kg off his back could make all the difference.

Stake: 1 Unit
