Rosehill racing tips

Race 1. (11:45) Midway BM72 (1800m)

#7 – Wild Thoughts @ $3.00

Wild Thoughts looks to have a nice career in store after back-to-back wins at Kembla Grange, and running at Rosehill should be ideal.

The four-year-old son of So You Think has yet to finish worse than third from four career starts, so his consistency has been good.

We’re happy with the $3, which could shorten.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (12:20) Highway Handicap C2 (1400m)

#4 – Warrior for Peace @ $5.00

Each-way odds are with Warrior for Peace, who looked good when winning at Scone three back, and anything close to that is good enough.

He then ran third at Rosehill before failing to fire last start, but nothing went his way, so it could pay to put a line through that run.

2kg comes off his back, so jump on the odds.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 3. (12:55) Bankstown Sports BM78 (1500m)

#7 – Amreekiyah @ $3.30

The four-year-old mare couldn’t stay unbeaten when running fourth behind Pippie Beach last start, but the heavy track didn’t suit her.

She looked much better when winning at Canterbury as a $1.70 chance, and although this isn’t an easy field, she’s good enough to handle it.

We’re happy with the $3.30 odds in a small field.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (13:30) Campbelltown Catholic Club BM78 (1500m)

#4 – Captain Furai @ $4.20

Captain Furai showed good speed when running second fresh up at Rosehill, and something close to that would be good enough.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding didn’t fire last start, but he’s better for the run, and getting James McDonald riding is a bonus.

Punters get each-way odds, so he’s worth including in horse racing picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (14:05) Wests Group Macarthur Derby BM78 (2000m)

#7 – She’s Unusual @ $6.50

We expect She’s Unusual to bounce back to winning form following a seventh at Randwick, which was a forgive run.

The six-year-old mare looked good earlier this prep when winning at Randwick, and anything close to that run is good enough to beat this field.

Given the odds, and with Jason Collett riding well, she’s worth including.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (14:40) Canterbury Hurlstone Up and Coming Stakes (1300m)

#5 – Central Coast @ $5.00

We have been waiting for Central Coast to return to the races, and it could be a winning return on Saturday.

The Waller-trained colt finished second behind the talented Autumn Boy on debut before scoring an impressive win at Canterbury.

He has plenty of scope as son of Wootton Bassett, and the odds are better than expected.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 7. (15:15) Merrylands RSL Club BM78 (1100m)

#10 – Without Parallel @ $3.60

Looking to remain unbeaten is Without Parallel, who extended her winning run to four in a row after scoring at Rosehill.

It was an impressive 4.8-length victory for the daughter of Time Test, and she’s good enough to handle this level of racing.

Dropping to 54kg is another positive, so include her in Rosehill racing picks.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 8. (15:50) Smithfield RSL San Domenico Stakes (1100m)

#5 – Wodeton @ $3.00

Wodeton wasn’t the easiest horse to follow in the autumn, but there is no denying his raw talent.

The three-year-old colt was the early Golden Slipper favourite before settling for second behind Marhoona.

He has form around the best in age-group racing, and $3 is a fair price for his return.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 9. (16:30) Mounties Group BM100 (1500m)

#15 – Our Gold Hope @ $8.50

Looking to run well at each-way odds is Our Gold Hope, who wasn’t too far away when fifth at Rosehill last start.

That could be a good form guide for racing this spring, and she often runs her best races with a run under her belt.

Drawing well helps, and she’s sneaking under the radar.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 10. (17:05) ClubNSW BM88 (1200m)

#10 – Perfumist @ $8.00

We backed Perfumist two weeks ago when she was fresh up, and although she didn’t fire, she should be better with the run under her belt.

The Bjorn Baker-trained mare owns five wins from 12 starts, and she was one of the favourites for the NZB Kiwi across the Tasman.

We’re happy to give her another chance at the odds.

Stake: 1 Unit
