Scone horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:30) Vinery Stud Maiden (900m)

#4 – Rockadeel @ $2.80

Looking to win on debut as a rising five-year-old is Rockadeel, who comes off a trial win at Scone by a half-length.

The Rodney Northam-trained mare is trained on the track, and Northam often gets his debutantes up and running.

There has been good betting support, which is a good enough sign for us.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (13:05) Jockeys Celebration Day Maiden (1100m)

#8 – See You Then @ $2.25

See You Then was a touch unlucky not to win at Tamworth last time out, but coming to Scone won’t do her chances any harm.

She owns three second placings from as many starts, and it’s only a matter of time before she breaks through for a maiden win.

Magurtz is a danger, but experience should pay off.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 3. (13:40) Muswellbrook Ford BM66 (1700m)

#7 – Storm Park @ $6.00

Most of the money has come for the odds-on favourite, which means runners like Storm Park are at value odds.

The three-year-old gelding by Ocean Park owns a win and a placing from six starts, and after two runs this prep, he is fit and ready to fire.

Take the each-way odds to upset the favourite.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:20) Newgate BM58 (1000m)

#6 – Echelon @ $5.50

Looking for back-to-back wins is Echelon, who was too quick for them at Muswellbrook last time out.

The three-year-old son of Capitalist didn’t look good prior to that run, but his confidence levels should be much higher now.

He has been specked at each-way odds, which is another good sign.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (14:55) Scone Equine Hospital C1 (1600m)

#11 – Pindorama @ $2.70

Pindorama showed good speed when winning on debut at Scone before placing here last time out.

The three-year-old filly by Written Tycoon is bred for speed, and although beaten last start, getting in with 55.5kg on her back helps.

The drop in weight from 58kg should make all the difference.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (15:35) Yarraman Park Maiden (1300m)

#3 – What a Gent @ $14.00

Punters get value odds for What a Gent, who owns two placings from four starts, and he wasn’t far away when fourth at Grafton fresh up.

The Tracy Bartley-trained son of D’argento hit the line nicely as the favourite, and punters get much better odds this time around.

We’re happy to include him in our picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:10) NSW Jockeys Association C2 (1300m)

#2 – Solitario @ $2.30

Looking to bounce back from a third placing is Solitario, who kicked off his preparation with consecutive wins at Scone.

The talented son of Pariah didn’t have all favours last start when hitting the line strongly, so this race is right up his alley.

Take the $2.30 odds before money comes for him on race day.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 8. (16:50) Pryde's Easifeed BM58 (1200m)

#3 – Zahdi @ $14.00

Zahdi typically runs well fresh up, and being trained on the track should make an impact.

The five-year-old mare by Zariz is good enough to keep up with this field, and the odds make her worth including in picks.

She draws well, and getting 2kg off her back is a bonus.

Stake: 1 Unit
