Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (15:30) Citi Wealth Handicap (1800m)

#9 – Storm Runner

Seeking consecutive wins is Storm Runner, who might have taken 17 runs to break maidens, but he can now kick on with it.

The four-year-old son of Microphone also owns eight placings, so he has been around the mark throughout his career.

That’s a good record, and he can handle this field.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (16:00) Citi Private Bank Handicap (1400m)

#1 – The Absolute

The Absolute didn’t fire fresh up when running seventh, but there is room for improvement.

He showed good pace when winning fresh up last preparation, so he knows how to find form early on in his campaign.

Barrier three is ideal, and punters should get each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (16:30) Citigold Private Client Handicap (1400m)

#8 – Circuit Ferry

Circuit Ferry is much better than a one-time winner, and he also has eight placings on his record.

The six-year-old son of Tavistock won three starts back by two lengths before placing in two subsequent runs.

Getting the inside draw with Zac Purton riding is a bonus.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 4. (17:00) Citigold Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Gold Patch

Looking to remain unbeaten is Gold Patch, who dug deep to score by a nose as a $1.50 chance.

The three-year-old son of Ardrossan had good betting support, and with James McDonald riding, we expect the big bets to come again.

Barrier 13 makes it tough, but a good ride gets him home.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (17:30) Citi Ultima Handicap (1200m)

#6 – Conrad Patch

Conrad Patch is nearing a win after two placings to start his career, and the three-year-old has a lot of upside.

He might be taking on race winners, but it’s only a matter of time before he wins, and he’s going through his gears nicely.

Having Hugh Bowman riding helps his chances of winning.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (18:00) City Wealth Advisory Services Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Galactic Voyage

Galactic Voyage scored his first Hong Kong win last time out at Sha Tin, having won in Australia at Ascot on debut.

The four-year-old son of Impending won at $1.30 odds at Ascot, so there was plenty of hype around the son of Impending.

We expect him to rise through the grades this season.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (18:35) Hong Kong Gold Cup (2000m) – GROUP 1

Race 8. (19:10) Citi Insurance Services (1200m)

#6 – Aurio

Manfred Man lines up Aurio, who won well three starts back by three lengths, which was a terrific effort.

The five-year-old son of Capitalist owns three wins and six placings overall, and he could start stringing wins together.

Purton rides, so expect to see late betting moves.

Stake: 1.5 Unit

Race 9. (19:45) Hong Kong Classic Cup (1800m) – GROUP 1

Read our full Hong Kong Classic Cup preview here – including best bets, trifecta and first four picks!

Race 10. (20:20) Citi Investment Services Handicap (2000m)

#3 – Liveandletlive

Liveandletlive is threatening to win a race after posting five placings this preparation, and he’s a runner worth sticking with.

The five-year-old was only a nose behind the winner at his last two starts, so he’s going awfully close to scoring an overdue win.

He has drawn wide, but he has time to find cover over 2000m.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 11. (20:55) Citi Credit Card Handicap (1400m)

#7 – Gustosisimo

The five-year-old hasn’t won this prep, but he owns six wins from 29 starts, so his strike rate isn’t too bad.

There were signs of life when running third last time out at Sha Tin behind Sky Trust, and a repeat could take him close.

The inside draw with 54kg is a bonus.

Stake: 1 Unit
