Sistema Railway Stakes Form Guide & Tips
(1) Arkansaw Kid (Best Each Way – $4.40)
Australian form should hold up well, especially at the sprinting distance. He comes off a good placing, and getting Opie Bosson riding helps.
Money has come for him, and he can’t be left out.
(2) Crocetti ($10.00)
Talented enough to win, but he hasn’t been at his best for a couple of seasons. The $10 is a tough too short for our liking.
(3) Jigsaw ($6.00)
He scored a win over Arkansaw Kid last start, so we’re not leaving him out. He went through a rough patch, but after posting three straight wins, he’s back to his best.
If Logan Bates can find cover from out wide, or get to the front, he’s a strong winning chance.
(4) Sterling Express ($19.00)
His best form comes fresh up and at Ellerslie, but he might be outclassed by a few of these. A place chance, but we’re leaving him out due to the depth of this field.
(5) Platinum Attack ($20.00)
His best form comes going the other way around, but we’re not prepared to leave him out of picks at the current odds.
$20 is a good price for a sprinter who will settle back and come with a big late finish.
(6) Sacred Satono ($46.00)
His form this preparation leaves little to be desired, and the odds reflect his chances.
(7) Tardelli ($31.00)
A fresh up winner, but he has been held in easier fields since. A big improvement is needed to win.
(8) Master Fay ($46.00)
He has yet to run well on rain-affected ground, and although Ellerslie is a good draining track, this would be an upset.
(9) Espionage ($9.50)
A former Australian who made good ground when third behind Sweynesday. That should be a good form guide, so we’re including him in first four picks.
(10) Reward Smile ($71.00)
Mixed form recently, including a win. However, we can’t see him winning a Group 1 at this stage of his career.
(11) Sweynesday (Best Roughie – $11.00)
He knows how to win races, having posted five wins and three placings from eight starts. This is a rise in class, but he could be a smart type in the making.
Getting $11 for an in-form runner is too good to turn down.
(12) Alabama Lass (Best Bet – $3.00)
An elite Group 1 sprinter who pulled up with a problem in the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley last start.
She has been given a nice spell, and she has yet to finish worse than second fresh up. Her best form is elite, and she is the worthy favourite and top pick.
(13) Ardalio ($26.00)
She only struggled last start and we expect something similar on Saturday.
