Sunshine Coast racing tips

Race 1. (13:18) The Coastline BMW Handicap (1000m)

#5 – On the Clock @ $4.40

On the Clock makes his debut for Liam Birchley, who always has good success with his youngsters.

The two-year-old son of Spirit of Boom placed in his first trial at Doomben before winning most recently Eagle Farm, which is a good form guide.

We expect him to make a tidy debut on Saturday, so watch for a betting push.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 2. (13:53) The Coastline BMW BM78 (2200m)

#4 – Enterprise Private @ $4.50

Enterprise Private is already a three-time winner this preparation, including a good win at Doomben last time out.

The five-year-old son of The Mission is a past winner at Sunshine Coast, so having winning form at the track only adds to his appeal.

Barrier four is ideal, and he maps to get a good run throughout.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 3. (14:28) The X3 Coastline BMW BM70 (1800m)

#9 – Bavarian Lady @ $13.00

Winning form is with Bavarian Lady, who wasn’t far away when running fourth in a field of only four last start at Sunshine Coast.

Most of her winning form has come in easier grades, but this isn’t an overly tough field, and she could run better than expected.

We’re happy to include her in picks at the odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (15:03) The X5 Coastline BMW BM70 (1200m)

#5 – Stanislaus @ $13.00

Stanislaus could be an omen bet this week, and his recent form includes a win and a placing.

The five-year-old son of Exceed and Excel won by a half-length two back, and he did well as a $21 chance last time out.

We expect him to be right around the mark again in an even field.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (15:38) The M2 Coastline BMW BM85 (1600m)

#7 – Nails Murphy @ $3.90

Seeking back-to-back wins is Nails Murphy, who capped off good form with a win at Sunshine Coast.

The Ciaron Maher-trained is only a four-time winner, but he has promised to deliver many times, and the penny might have dropped now.

Look for him to settle handy and give punters a good sight.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (16:17) Neue Klasse Coastline BMW Handicap (1200m)

#12 – Brutal Miss @ $10.00

Brutal Miss showed good speed to win on debut at Gold Coast, and she could remain unbeaten on Saturday.

The three-year-old filly by Brutal scored comfortably by 1.8 lengths, and although drawing barrier 13 isn’t ideal, she gets in with a light weight.

Luck is needed, but ability should take her close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (16:57) M Power Coastline BM78 (1400m)

#9 – Diana’s Affair @ $34.00

Looking to improve on a recent placing is Diana’s Affair, who typically finds his best form after a couple of runs.

The six-year-old gelding by Merchant Navy owns two wins and four placings at Sunshine Coast, and he handles all track conditions.

We expect him to fight out the finish at each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (17:32) Coastline BMW Sunshine Coast Cup (1400m)

#5 – Pereille @ $5.00

Consistent form could be capped off by Pereille, who has placed in all three starts this preparation.

The Tony Gollan-trained gelding won his only start at Sunshine Coast, so having form on the track adds to his appeal.

Barrier 15 makes it harder, but he has time to find cover.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (18:10) Electric Coastline BMW BM90 (1200m)

#7 – Master Showman @ $67.00

Master Showman runs his best races second-up with two wins, and he could hit back after running seventh fresh up.

The six-year-old son of Snitzel is a past winner at Sunshine Coast and a three-time winner over the distance, so the stats read well.

He could add some value to selections.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 10. (18:48) The M5 Coastline BMW BM78 (1000m)

#8 – Vindicta @ $11.00

Vindicta owns four wins from 12 starts, with two of those wins coming fresh up, so he could hit the ground running.

The Jack Bruce-trained gelding loves racing at Sunshine Coast with three win, so he’s our top pick to resume with a win.

Look for a betting move on race day, which would add to our confidence.

Stake: 2 Units
