Swan Hill racing tips

Race 1. (13:00) Bet365 Maiden (975m)

#5 – Fornof @ $1.85

There has been good money for Fornof to win on debut after showing good form at the jumpouts.

The three-year-old filly by Nicconi gets Dean Yendall in the saddle, and that’s typically a good sign for midweek racing.

Follow the betting moves for the favourite.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (13:30) Jarrod Arentz Electrical Maiden (975m)

#9 – Bridgeitall @ $3.00

Bridgeitall wasn’t too far away on debut when running fifth at Seymour, and she should benefit from the spell.

The four-year-old mare by Akeed Mofeed showed good speed in a recent jumpout at Kerang, so she could be ready to fire.

We’re happy with the $3 odds available.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 3. (14:00) Ultima Hotel (1300m)

#7 – Bella Gisella @ $10.00

Leading didn’t work for Bella Gisella last time out, but we’re happy to give her another chance at the odds.

The three-year-old daughter of Toronado comes from the Ciaron Maher stable, and they know how to improve their runners.

Linda Meech rides, which adds to our confidence.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 4. (14:30) Footts Swan Hill Demolition Maiden (1600m)

#4 – Pick Wisely @ $2.60

Money has come for Pick Wisely, who did well to run fourth fresh up at Bendigo in heavy conditions, so this track should suit.

The three-year-old son of Vino Rosso ran second two starts back at Camperdown, and a repeat of that should take him close.

The odds reflect his chances of breaking maiden grades on Tuesday.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 5. (15:00) Pooles Accountants BM58 (1600m)

#8 – Track Patcher @ $8.50

Punters get each-way value with Track Patcher, who looks to cap off three solid runs this preparation with a victory.

The three-year-old son of Denman won his only start at Swan Hill, so getting back to this track won’t hurt his chances of winning.

The odds are better than expected, so include him in horse racing picks.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (15:30) Busbiz BM64 (2400m)

#7 – Djockovic @ $4.50

Djockovic struggled in Adelaide last time out, but that followed a second placing at Swan Hill, which is a much better form guide.

The five-year-old son of Kodiac doesn’t mind the sting out of the track, and there aren’t any superstars in this field.

The each-way odds are worth including.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 7. (16:00) Manangtang Cup Saturday 11 October BM58 (975m)

#9 – Over the Stars @ $4.00

Looking to cap off good form with a win is Over the Stars, who finished second at Ballarat two back before finishing fourth at Bendigo.

The three-year-old filly by Overshare opened at $4.60, so there has been support for her, and that’s a good sign in an even field.

She will need luck from a wide barrier, but that’s the only negative.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (16:30) The Bottle-O BM64 (1200m)

#4 – Spirited Defence @ $2.90

We’re sticking with Spirited Defence has been all around the mark this preparation with four starts for two wins and two placings.

The four-year-old son of National Defense loves running over this distance with two wins, and he could rebound after being beaten at $1.27 odds last start.

Look for him to settle back and come with a late run.

Stake: 3 Units
