The Galaxy Form Guide & Tips
(1) Mazu ($35.00)
He hasn’t quite been himself for some time, and although he’s tough to predict, we’re not prepared to take the risk.
(2) Uncommon James ($23.00)
He looked to have a bright future early on, but much like Mazu, his best days could be behind him.
We need to see him produce something before including him in our Galaxy picks.
(3) I Am Me ($11.00)
She had every chance to win last start but failed to pick up early enough. She is a three-time winner at Rosehill and getting back to this track is ideal.
We’re happy to include her in picks at double-figure odds.
(4) Lady Laguna ($26.00)
Her fresh up form is solid enough but we think she might need the run under her belt. Look for her to win something big later this season.
(5) Jedibeel (Best Roughie – $18.00)
He won either side of a spell, and although Group 1 racing is a different kettle of fish, he’s good enough to win on Saturday.
He’s going under the radar with bookmakers and he could boost payouts.
(6) Growing Empire ($8.00)
A proven Group 1 winner, Growing Empire is trying to recapture his best form. Connections could have a tough decision soon, but he’ll likely stay a colt and try to win one more Group 1 before stud comes calling.
(7) Dragonstone ($91.00)
His odds have drifted since opening at $67. The lack of betting support isn’t a good sign and he might need another run.
(8) Front Page ($18.00)
Some of his best form comes fresh up with four wins from nine starts. He makes his own luck out in front, so he’s never out of contention.
A first four finish isn’t out of the equation.
(9) Ostraka ($41.00)
His two runs this prep were average at best and we can’t see him turning his form around.
(10) Estriella ($26.00)
We’re not sure what to make of Estriella. She is talented enough to win at Group 1 level, but she hasn’t shown up as a mare.
(11) Briasa ($7.00)
Boasting six wins from seven starts, Briasa is a runner on the rise. He won at Randwick two back by 3.3 lengths before winning at Newcastle.
He knows how to get the job done and a Group 1 sprint win awaits.
(12) Eagle Nest ($23.00)
A two-time winner already this prep but she could struggle to keep up with these elite sprinters.
(13) Private Harry (Best Bet – $3.10)
A lovely type in the making and our clear top pick. He toyed with Lady of Camelot last start, who has since pushed Lady of Shenandoah to her limits.
It’s stunning form and we can’t wait to see what this colt produces this campaign.
(14) Commemorative (Best Each Way – $6.50)
She comes off a tidy win at Randwick, and if she can improve slightly, she’s good enough to win at this level.
51kg on her back adds to her appeal, so we’re including her as our best each-way.
(15) Time to Boogie ($23.00)
Solid enough form but there are too many top-level sprinters in this field.
